East Carolina Outscored 187-112 over Past Four Games
It’s been a difficult season for East Carolina. Over the past four weeks they’ve been outscored 187-112. The Pirates did have some offensive success against Memphis last week; Freshman quarterback Holton Ahlers threw for 449 yards and three touchdowns and Senior wide receiver Trevon Brown hauled in ten passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Pirates offense. The Pirates amassed 556 total yards of offense and demonstrated that they are going to be a team that will be exciting to watch for the foreseeable future.

The Pirates defense isn’t as bad as they looked against that powerful Memphis offense. This season the defense has allowed 233 passing yards and 162 rushing yards per game. That amounts to allowing an average of 36.1 points per game. Teams convert 35 percent of their third downs, 75 percent of their fourth downs and teams score on 100 percent of their trips to the Red Zone. The defense has two interceptions and have registered 27 sacks this season.
Tulane’s Potent Rushing Attack
Tulane racked 365 rushing yards and 426 total yards and whipped South Florida 41-15. Junior running back Darius Bradwell rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown, Junior running back Corey Dauphine rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns, Senior quarterback Justin McMillan rushed for 45 yards and a touchdown and Freshman running back Amare Jones also scored one touchdown for the Green Wave.

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
I like betting on teams playing on homecoming weekend. I think Tulane on homecoming weekend is a good bet to cover the 13.5 points too. I think the Tulane offense is better than the East Carolina defense is and let’s face it; the Green Wave defense is probably better than the Pirates defense. Did any of that make sense? I sure hope so but if it didn’t then lay the wood and bet on Tulane to cover the 13.5 on Saturday.
Prediction: Tulane -13.5
Full-Game Total Pick
This is probably my favorite play Saturday. Both these teams can score points and even though the both defenses are halfway decent, they can surely allow teams to score points. Especially East Carolina and the way they defend against the rush. And Tulane LOVES to run the ball. I wouldn’t be one bit surprised to see Tulane try and run up the score for the homecoming crowd. I also see East Carolina scoring at least three touchdowns. I will be playing the over in this one Saturday.
Prediction: Over 57
