The Air Force Falcons will be trying to snap a two-game losing streak when they face the New Mexico Lobos in a Mountain West matchup on Saturday afternoon.
Lobos Trying To Snap Four-Game Losing Streak
The Lobos haven’t had much go their way this season, losing six of the nine games they have played so far. The team has lost three consecutive games and they will be trying to snap their losing streak against an Air Force team that has struggled this season.
Two great touchdowns Saturday

Offensively, the Lobos have been pretty good this year, averaging 31.6 points per game, which is 46th in the country. New Mexico has had a lot of success running the ball this year, averaging 167.9 rushing yards per game. Tyrone Owens leads the way for the Lobos with 581 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
The Lobos average 200.4 passing yards per game, led by Sheriron Jones, who has completed 53.7 percent of his passes for 1,202 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
Defense is another matter entirely for the Lobos, who are giving up 35.1 points per game. The team has given up 130 points in their last three games, and if they don’t play better on Saturday, they will lose their fourth consecutive game.
Falcons Looking For Finishing Touch
Even though they have the same record as the Lobos, the Falcons are a better team than their division rivals and should have a better record than they currently do. The problem for the Falcons is that they have been unable to finish close games, which has hurt them in the standings.

Air Force has lost three games by four points or less and they haven’t suffered a loss by more than 10 points. They have played well offensively, averaging 29.7 points per game, but their inconsistencies on the defensive end have cost them a few wins this year.
The Falcons running game continues to be unstoppable even though defenses know what is coming. The team is averaging 241.2 rushing yards per game, which is 12th in the country.
Cole Fagan leads the team with 523 yards and four touchdowns. Since they hardly throw the ball, Isaiah Sanders has only thrown for 844 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions. He has also rushed for 466 yards and six touchdowns.
Defensively, the Falcons are giving up 25.7 points per game. They will have their hands full with the Lobos offense, but their running game should help them control the clock and keep New Mexico’s offense on the sidelines.
Air Force is:
- 3-1-1 ATS in its last 5 games overall.
- 3-1-1 ATS in its last 5 home games.
- 5-1-1 ATS in its last 7 games on grass.
New Mexico is:
- 1-4 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.
- 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games following an ATS win.
- 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games in November.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
The Falcons have played well against the spread this season, winning three of their last five home games and five of their last seven games on grass. The Lobos have struggled against the spread this season, losing four of their last five games against teams with losing records and four of their last five games following an ATS win.
Prediction: Air Force Falcons -13.5
Full-Game Total Pick
The total has gone over in four of New Mexico’s last five road games and in seven of their last nine overall. The total has also gone over in seven of Air Force’s last nine games against teams with losing records and in the last five meetings between the two teams.
Prediction: Over 55.5
Half-Time Side Pick
The Falcons are averaging 16 points per game in the first half of their last three games, while the Lobos are averaging 7.3 points per game. The fact that the Falcons also play better defense makes it more likely that they will win the first half of this game.
Prediction: Air Force Falcons -7
Half-Time Total Bet
The Falcons and Lobos are averaging 23.3 points in the first half of their last three games, but they will go over the first half total in this game because the Lobos are giving up 27.7 points per game in the first half of their last three games.
Prediction: Over 28
