Northwestern Wildcats vs. Iowa Hawkeyes
NCAA Football: Saturday, November 10th 2018 3:30 PM EST TIME
The Northwestern Wildcats are looking to keep their pace on top of the B10 West standings as they head onto the road to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes. As for the Hawkeyes, they too are looking to have a bounce-back game as they have lost two straight games.
Four Game Winning Streak Over
The Northwestern Wildcats are looking to get another winning streak going as they come into this game with a tough loss against the ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Wildcats would put up a great fight at home, but could not commit any turnovers to even the game up. However, there is some good news heading into this road game. The Wildcats have yet to lose a game on the road this season as they now have a lot at stake as they go up against a ranked team and could become bowl eligible with a win on Saturday.

Coming into this game, the Wildcats are no stranger to taking on ranked teams. In the six games since quarterback Clayton Thorson came back to the team, they are 4-2. They beat No. 18 by double-digits on the road, and lost to Nos. 3&4 by a total of 13 points. Can they now take down the 21st ranked? They have the defense to do it as they are only allowing 24.4 points and 377.6 yards per game.
Three Straight Losses?
The Iowa Hawkeyes are hanging on a very tight and small string right now on their ranking in the college football season. The Hawkeyes have lost the past two straight games as they fell to the ranked Penn State Nittany Lions and Purdue Boilermakers. Anyone who read my prediction and tips in that Purdue Boilermaker game, congrats on the upset win as I predicted the Boilermakers would win that game. With that in mind, do I have the same lean against the Hawkeyes on this Saturday? They do come into this game with winning seven of their last nine home games.

If the Hawkeyes want to prove me wrong, they have to have the best defensive yet. They come into this game with allowing 18.6 points and 283.7 yards per game. With the spread this high, can the Hawkeyes turn their season around and rebound against a team that has had recent success against them? I have another strong feeling this is going to be three straight losses…
- Hawkeyes are 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.
- Wildcats are 3-0-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
- Wildcats are 3-0-2 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game.
- Wildcats are 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 games in November.
- Wildcats are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game.
- Wildcats are 21-4-1 ATS in their last 26 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.
- Wildcats are 20-5-1 ATS in their last 26 conference games.
- Wildcats are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games on fieldturf.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
As soon as you are reading this prediction, it would be wise to play this bet very fast as this large spread will most likely decrease as this bet is nearly a lock with how the Northwestern Wildcats are playing. I called the upset for the Boilermakers against the Hawkeyes as I can see another close game were the Wildcats might actually pull this off.
Full-Game Total Pick
As stated above, the Hawkeyes need a strong defensive performance to win the spread, but they will not do that. The Wildcats have a strong running and passing game that will light up the scoreboard. Do not worry the Hawkeyes will follow as the Over is 6-1 in Hawkeyes last 7 games overall as well as 6-1 in Hawkeyes last 7 conference games.
