The Washington State Cougars will be trying to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive when they take on the Arizona Wildcats, who will be trying to pull off an upset on Saturday night.
Wildcats Trying To Become Bowl Eligible
The Wildcats had a rough start to the season but they have managed to bounce back and even their record at 5-5. With only two games left in the season, the Wildcats need one more win to become bowl eligible and will need to beat either the Cougars or their rival Arizona State Sun Devils to make it to a bowl.

The Wildcats will try to win their third game in a row against the Cougars, who are trying to stay alive in the playoff race.
Offensively, the Wildcats are averaging 30.8 points per game, which is 56th in the country. They have done a great job over their last three games, averaging 38.6 points per game, and they will try to keep things going against a stingy Washington State defense.
Khalil Tate has completed 56.2 percent of his passes for 1,954 yards, 19 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He has also rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns. J.J. Taylor has been great for the Wildcats this season, leading the team in rushing with 1,221 yards and six touchdowns.
If the Wildcats want to win this game, they will feed Taylor as much as possible and try to wear down Washington State’s defense.
Cougars Going For Sixth Consecutive Win
The Cougars are currently ranked eighth by the selection committee, but they still have an outside chance of making the playoffs because three of the teams ahead of them have some tough games they could probably lose. With their loss to USC looking worse every week, the Cougars will need to take care of business to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

They have won five games since they lost to the Trojans and will try to make it six in a row when they face the Wildcats.
The Cougars are averaging 37.6 points per game, thanks to the best passing game in the country. The team is throwing for 392.3 yards per game this season. With their passing game being so successful, they haven’t had to run the ball as much this season.
Despite throwing the ball so much, Gardner Minshew has completed an impressive 69.6 percent of his passes for 3,852 yards, 29 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He has also rushed for 86 yards and three touchdowns. James Williams leads the team with 437 rushing yards and nine touchdowns.
Defensively, the Cougars are giving up 22.1 points per game, which is 34th in the country, but they will have their hands full with an Arizona offense that is playing very well right now.
Washington State is:
- 9-1 ATS in their last 10 home games.
- 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a straight up win.
- 6-1 ATS in their last 7 conference games.
- 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
- 4-14 ATS in their last 18 road games.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
The Cougars are playing well against the spread this season, winning nine if their last 10 home games and six of their last seven conference games. The Wildcats have struggled against the spread, losing five of their last six road games against teams with winning home records and 14 of their last 18 road games.
Prediction: Washington State Cougars -9.5
Full-Game Total Pick
The total has gone over in nine of Washington State’s last 13 games and in eight of the team’s last 11 games following an ATS win. The total has also gone over in eight of Arizona’s last 11 November games and in the last four games between the two teams.
Prediction: Over 62.5
Full-Game Prop Bet
The Cougars are averaging 37.6 points per game and they should be able to go over the total against the Wildcats, who are giving up 28.1 points per game because Arizona has struggled defending the pass this season, which is what the Cougars do best.
Prediction: Washington State – Total Points Over 36.5
Half-Time Side Pick
The Wildcats will win the first half because they have played well in the first half of their last three games, averaging 18.7 points while the Cougars average 13.3 points.
Prediction: Arizona Wildcats 6.5
Half-Time Total Bet
The Wildcats and Cougars are giving up 31.3 combined points in the first half of their last three games and they are scoring 32 points during that span so it is safe to say they will go over the total in the first half of this game.
Prediction: Over 31.5
Half-Time Prop Prediction
The Cougars will score first in this game because they are averaging8.2 points per game in the first quarter, while the Wildcats average 3.3 points per game.
