The Green Wave had a chance to get the ball back with two minutes left but received a penalty of fourth and 1 for too many players on the field. Tulane’s offense struggled for a majority of the contest. A big part of it was due to an injury to starter Jonathan Banks who left the contest after taking a hit in the second quarter. Backup Jonathan Brantley had on 58 passing yards on 5/8 completions. The signal-caller led Tulane with 73 rushing yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Dontrell Hilliard was contained to 68 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Navy won the contest despite two turnovers to none by Tulane. The Midshipmen had 326 total yards to Tulane’s 262.

The no. 5 Oklahoma Sooners beat the no. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes 31-16 on te road on Saturday night. With the massive win, the Sooners will have control of their own destiny for a BCS Championship Game. The Sooners broke the game open in the second half after each team only had a field goal to show in the first 30 minutes. Baker Mayfield led the Sooners with 386 passing yards and three touchdowns. Trey Sermon led the ground attack with 62 rushing yards on 17 carries. The key was their defense as they shut down J.T. Barrett to 183 passing yards and an interception. The Sooners had 490 total yards while the Buckeyes had 350. Oklahoma took control of the game with 35 minutes of possession. It was the Buckeyes first home loss since Nov. 21, 2015.
The Tulane Green Wave are:
- 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss.
- 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games on grass.
The Oklahoma Sooners are:
- 6-0 ATS in their last 6 home games.
- 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win.
- 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS win.
Baker Mayfield is playing out of this world early this season. Tulane doesn’t have the defense to change that. Look for the Sooners to win this game with ease.
