Line: Toledo -8

Over/Under: 74

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane hit the road to take on the Tulane Green Wave for a Saturday night contest. Toledo is looking to build off a successful season in which they went 9-4. The Rockets are led by Logan Woodside who has 546 passing yards and two touchdowns. Tulsa is expected to be one of the better teams in the AAC after going 10-3 last season. D’Angelo Brewer is one of the best running backs in the nation. The senior has 295 yards and three touchdowns this season. If signal-caller Chad President can play mistake-free football as he has so far, Tulsa will be a feared team in the AAC. Can Brewer lead the Golden Hurricane to the road win?

Golden Hurricane blow by Louisiana

On Saturday, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane beat the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns 66-42. After being all tied up at 10 at the end of the first quarter, the Golden Hurricane outscored Louisiana 28-13. Brewer led the Golden Hurricane with 262 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Brewer was eight yards shy of the conference rushing record in a game. Neither team played much defense as Tulsa had 667 total yards and Louisiana had 596. Chad President went for 243 passing yards and a touchdown. Justin Hobbs (103 yards) and Keenen Johnson (80) led Tulsa in receiving yards. It was the most points Tulsa has scored in a game since scoring 66 against Nicholls in 2012.

Rockets top Wolfpack on the road

The Toledo Rockets beat the Nevada Wolfpack 37-24 on the road on Saturday. Toledo jumped out to a 20-3 lead with just over five minutes to play in the second quarter and they remained in control. Logan Woodside had 232 passing yards and two touchdowns. Terry Swanson went for 101 rushing yards on a heavy 27 carries. Art Thompkins (54 yards) and Shakif Seymour (48 yards) helped Swanson in the ground game. The game was all about possession. Toledo had the ball for an eye-popping 40 minutes. Nevada had the only two turnovers of the game. Cody Thompson had a busy day with 101 yards and a touchdown on eight receptions.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane are:

  • 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game.
  • 12-3 ATS in their last 15 road games.
  • 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

The Toledo Rockets are:

  • 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
  • 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games on fieldturf.
  • 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games.

Toledo has the home-field edge and has been a bit better this season. The problem is that they won’t have an answer for Brewer. Look for Tulsa to win outright or keep the game close at least.
