NCAAF: Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. ET
Line: Wake Forest -15
The Utah State Aggies hit the road to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons for a Saturday afternoon matchup. Utah State is looking to build off an abysmal 3-9 season last year. Jordan Myers leads the Aggies with 542 passing yards. The problem is that the signal-caller has four interceptions. Wake Forest is looking to begin 3-0 for the second straight season. The Demon Deacons have outscored their opponents 85-17 in the first two weeks. Demon Deacons quarterback John Wolford has 258 passing yards and four touchdowns on the season. Can Myers lead Utah State to the road upset?
Kent Myers leads Aggies to easy win
On Thursday night, the Utah State Aggies beat the Idaho State Bengals 51-13. Utah State held a 38-6 lead at the half and they never looked back. Kent Myers had 323 passing yards and two touchdowns. The signal-caller completed incredible 24-of-26 passes on the night. Myers also had 85 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Eltoro Allen led the Aggies with 103 rushing yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. The Aggies had two interceptions on Bengals quarterback Tanner Gueller. Demon Deacons blow by Eagles
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons beat the Boston College Eagles 34-10 on Saturday. It was a nice start to their ACC season after they went 3-5 last year. It took a while for Wake Forest to get going as they punted in their first three possessions. John Wolford had 151 passing yards and a touchdown in the win. Wolford led Wake Forest with 92 rushing yards and a touchdown. Wake Forest dominated on defense forcing four turnovers while not giving the ball away on offense. The Demon Deacons scored 21 points off Eagles turnovers. Cade Carney added 40 rushing yards and a touchdown. Greg Dortch led the team with 56 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The Utah State Aggies are:
- 2-10 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
- 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game.
- 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games on fieldturf.
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons are:
- 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
- 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games on fieldturf.
- 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games.
The Aggies don’t have the firepower on offense to threaten against a strong Wake Forest defense. Look for Wolford to have his best game of the season in an easy home win.
