Carolina Panthers vs. Philadelphia Eagles
NFL Football Week 7: Sunday, October 21st 2018 1:00 PM EST TIME
The Carolina Panthers are looking to rebound from their recent loss against the Washington Redskins as they head into Philadelphia to take on the Eagles. As for the Eagles, they too are needing a win in Week 7 as it will propel them into the top of the division. Can they keep their high offense going?
Tough Panthers Loss
The Carolina Panthers are known for having one of the best rushing attacks in the league, however, it was not put on the table against the Washington Redskins as they were never able to serve up the win. The Panthers were unable to even cross the 100-yard rushing mark in the game, as the Redskins forced the Panthers to throw early as they fell behind in the game fast. There is also another key factor in this matchup as well. The Panthers offense is about quarterback Cam Newton and running back Christian McCaffrey. However, when they need to have others step in, they have yet to get warmed up due to the lack of evolvement in the game. It was clear that WR DJ Moore was not ready to be a part of the offense as he would fumble the ball two times. If the Panthers want to become a strong playoff team, or in hindsight even win this game against the Eagles, they need to bring in the whole offense together instead of a two-man crew.

The Carolina Panthers need to limit the turnovers and attack the Eagles weak secondary which they have the ability to do. The Panthers have been able to score a lot this season with averaging 24 points per game with 222 passing yards. However, the defense needs to step up as they are allowing 24 points. Focus on the passing game, surprise the Eagles and attack with the power rushing attack that is 3rd in the league with almost 140 rushing yards per game.
Another Divisional Win
The Philadelphia Eagles are wanting to showcase that they deserve the top spot in the division and have the chance to do so Sunday. Right now the Eagles are sitting in a second-place tie in the NFC East as the Eagles have a 3-3 record to kick off the season. They have not wowed anyone so far but they can get those brownie points with a strong win against the Carolina Panthers. They come into this game coming off a huge win against their rival New York Giants as they took down anyone who thought they would fail against an Eli Manning, Giants. I know I was one of them, and have turned my viewpoint on this team.

Looking at the Eagles offense, they can match with the Panthers as they are averaging a total of 22.8 points a game. Wentz has yet to have his breakout moment this season as it needs to be coming soon. As for the Eagles defense, they have only allowed a 100 yard rusher in the past one of four games.
- Eagles are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games in Week 7.
- Eagles are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
- Eagles are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games on grass.
- Panthers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up loss.
- Panthers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after accumulating more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
- Panthers are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games following an ATS loss.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
I’m an analytic nerd. Doing some research, anytime a team is coming off a straight up loss (Which the Panthers did agains the Redskins) they have cashed the following week at least 71% in the past five years on the road. The Panthers have a strong offense and I think they keep in within a field goal all game long. Take the points.
Prediction: PANTHERS +4.5
Full-Game Total Pick
It is going to be a classic shootout between these two teams. It always has been for the past five times they have faced each other as the OVER has hit four straight times and is 5-1 in the past six games. Give me the Over as this is a statement must win game for both teams.
