Cleveland Browns vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 7 NFL: Sunday, October 21st 2018 1:00 PM EST TIME
The Cleveland Browns are hoping to get some life back into their season as they fell to the Los Angeles Chargers a week ago. Now they head back on the road to take on an offensive loaded Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster that is ready to get back on track as well. These two teams will meet up this Sunday in Week 7 action.
Another Browns Performance
Everyone was backing on the Cleveland Browns to win even straight up against the Los Angeles Chargers a week ago, as they let down the whole public with their awful performance. However they did not let me down at all. I told everyone to fade away from the Browns as they are going up against a tough pass defense of the Chargers as Mayfield will not be able to go toe-to-toe with the veteran of QB Philip Rivers. As others cry about their loss, it is time to continue my own winning streak with looking at this Browns vs Buccaneers matchup. Remember the rise of Mayfield in his first game in the NFL? Well all of that has come to an end as Mayfield has thrown for 1,076 yards, four touchdowns along with his five interceptions.

If the Cleveland Browns thought going up against the fast paced Los Angeles Chargers offense was a tough challenge, wait until they see the team they are taking on Sunday. Since the Browns are struggling on the defensive front as they have allowed thirty points per game in the past three games, they are going to have to out perform the Bucs on offense. They can do that with their high powered rushing game that is 4th-most in the league with an average of 137.7 per game.
Good Bye Defensive Coordinator
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were riding on a magic carpet ride to begin the season, however everybody knows what happens to magic carpet rides. They do not exists. However all jokes aside, this Buccaneers team has completely turned a 180 on the season as they went form the top of the division back to the bottom where they belong. With three straight losses on the season, with most of those coming in the fault of the defense, it was time for the front office to make a move. On Monday, head coach Koetter fired defensive coordinator Mike Smith. Tampa Bay’s defense was last in total yardage in 2017 and was allowing 34.6 points per game this season with him under the helm. With Smith gone, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can find some new life now.

Even though the defense has been the worst in the NFL, the offense on the other hand has been still surprisingly good. In the 34-29 loss against the Atlanta Falcons, QB Jameis Winston had his best start yet. Winston would complete 30 pass attempts for a total of 395 passing yards along with four touchdowns and two interceptions. I can see them easily out gunning the Browns in this game as they are averaging 448.6 yards of total offense and 28.2 points per game this season.
- Buccaneers are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
- Browns are 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
- Browns are 6-20 ATS in their last 26 games following a straight up loss.
- Browns are 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 road games.
- Browns are 6-20 ATS in their last 26 games after scoring less than 15 points in their previous game.
- Browns are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games in October.
- Browns are 3-11 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.
- Browns are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games in Week 7.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
I love this pick even more if you buy the extra point back and it will be sitting at -2.5. The Cleveland Browns have yet to really stop an offensive minded team this season as their only wins have come against the Ravens and Jets were are both defensive minded teams. If the game is tied coming in the 4th quarter, my trust is in the hands of Winston instead of a rookie quarterback.
Prediction: TAMPA BAY -3.0
Full-Game Total Pick
Some may say this is a risk, however I believe the Browns offense will once again struggle as they are facing a new team with a new defensive coordinator. I can see the new man stepping up at least for one game and showcasing why he deserves the throne. The Under is 4-1 in Browns last 5 games following a straight up loss and 4-1 in Browns last 5 games following an ATS loss.
