The red-hot Atlanta Falcons are set to head on the road to take on the Cleveland Browns in intraconference action on Sunday afternoon.
Matt Ryan leading explosive passing game
Following a rough start to the season, the Falcons have seemingly turned it around over the last few weeks reeling together a three-game win streak that has pushed them to the .500 mark through the first eight games played. Much of this has been fueled by the play of Pro Bowl quarterback Matt Ryan, who has put together a strong start to the year. Ryan currently ranks third with 2,685 passing yards along being fourth with 19 passing touchdowns, a 70.6 percent completion rate, and 115.1 passer rating. During the three-game win streak, he has tossed eight touchdown passes to just one interception while throwing for more than 350 passing yards. Ryan is coming off a strong outing in the 38-14 win over the 26-of-38 passes for 350 yards with four touchdowns to one interception.

All-Pro wide receiver Julio Jones has been a huge factor throughout the first eight games that he has put together an impressive start. Jones currently ranks seventh with 60 receptions, second with 933 receiving yards, and first with 116.6 receiving yards per contest. Jones has been a huge factor offensively with five 100 receiving yard performances with three of those outings coming in the last three games played with him notching more than 100 receiving yards and seven catches. He is also coming off his first touchdown of the season against the Redskins while hauling in seven catches for 121 receiving yards. These two have fueled the second-ranked passing attack along with being eighth with 28.5 points per contest. This could see their explosive offense have its way with the Browns’ 31st ranked pass defense with plenty of points on the board.
Browns struggles continuing to mount
It has been nothing short of a struggle for the Browns this season that has seen them fall into an all-too-familiar rut. Cleveland has fallen in four straight games that have pushed them to last place in the AFC North. These persistent issues have led to the team move in another direction with the firing head coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley prior to Week 9. Much of this has laid with their inconsistency on both sides of the ball ranking in the bottom tier of the league. The Browns are currently 23rd with 21.1 points per game and 222.9 per contest that has seen rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield rolling through his struggles leading the offense consistently with scoring drives. Mayfield has passed for 1,768 passing yards on 60.0 percent completion rate along with 10 touchdown passes, seven interceptions, and four fumbles.

During the four-game losing streak, the Browns haven’t scored more than 23 points in any of the contests while Mayfield has thrown four interceptions. The Browns have also had their issues defensively over that stretch giving up more than 30 points three times that has been highlighted by 37-21 loss on Sunday to the Kansas City Chiefs with quarterback Patrick Mahomes completing 23-of-32 passes for 375 yards with three touchdowns. Tight end Travis Kelce was a huge problem defensively for the browns hauling in seven catches for 99 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Browns have had tremendous issues defending against the pass ranking 31st in the league, which should be an issue against another potent passing attack led by Ryan that could tag them for another big offensive outing.
- Browns are 7-23 ATS in their last 30 games in November.
- Browns are 2-11 ATS in their last 13 games after accumulating more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
- Browns are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games in Week 10.
- Falcons are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games in November.
- Falcons are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games after allowing less than 15 points in their previous game.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
The Falcons should have the decisive edge in the contest with their team headed in the right direction behind their passing attack against one of weakest passing defenses in the league. This has the makings of being another disappointing outcome for the Browns.
Prediction: Altanta -4.5
