The Atlanta Falcons are looking to get back on track hosting the Dallas Cowboys for Week 11 action.
Cowboys searching for offensive consistency
It has been a season full of ups and downs for the Cowboys that have put him the just under the .500 mark heading into Week 11 action at 4-5. Much of this has centered around the inconsistencies the team has had offensively with quarterback Dak Prescott being at the forefront of those issues. The hope had been for Prescott to take the next step in his maturation as a quarterback this year, but he has had trouble finding a way to play more effectively as a passer. He has thrown for 1,930 yards with 11 touchdowns but has five interceptions and fumbled eight times. Since his rookie campaign, he has had issues with being more efficient with limiting his turnovers played a part in the team’s shortcomings on that side of the ball currently ranking 24th in the league with 20.1 points per contest and 27th in total offense.

It has taken away a bit from the strong campaign that star running back Ezekiel Elliott has been putting together with ranking second in the NFL with 831 rushing yards with four touchdowns along with 35 receptions for 262 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. However, the team put together an encouraging outing in the 27-20 road win over the Philadelphia Eagles with Elliott leading the charge with 151 rushing yards and a touchdown, which marked his fourth 100 rushing yard performance of the season. It was a huge win for the Cowboys, but one that needs to see them continue to perform at a high. If Dallas hopes to grab yet another one on the road this week against Atlanta, it will need their defense to continue to step up. They currently rank third with 19.4 points allowed along with being ninth against the pass and eighth against the run.
Falcons eyeing bounce-back performance
The Falcons have had a topsy-turvy start to the season that has seen them bounce back and forth between showing that they are a playoff caliber team to falling short of that. Atlanta is coming off a performance that displayed the latter in a 28-16 loss to the Cleveland Browns last Sunday. They struggled to keep pace with the Browns with their defense being torched by rookie running back Nick Chubb for 176 rushing yards and a touchdown, which included a 92-yard touchdown run. Despite that, there were some encouraging performances as star wide receiver Julio Jones once again got into the end zone for the second straight week with this time being on the goal line as he hauled in seven catches for 107 receiving yards. Meanwhile, tight end Austin Hooper was also a huge factor with 10 catches for 56 receiving yards and a touchdown.

It may have marked a tough loss, quarterback Matt Ryan was efficient throwing the ball completing 38-of-52 passes for 330 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Ryan has been putting together a strong year currently ranking third with 3,015 yards, fourth with 21 touchdown passes and a 71.1 percent completion rate, and fourth with a 113.2 passer rating. This has helped fuel the Falcons holding the eighth-highest scoring offense at 27.1 points per contest while ranking sixth in passing. Although Dallas possesses a sturdy defense, this matchup may have the billing of Atlanta getting back on track behind their offense with Ryan adding to his impressive campaign that will put his team firmly back in the playoff mix.
