Phillip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers will be going for their seventh consecutive win when they renew their AFC West rivalry with the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon.
Broncos Trying To Snap Two-Game Losing Streak
The Broncos got off to a 2-0 start this season but things haven’t gone well for them since, with the team winning only one of their last seven games. They will be trying to snap a two-game losing streak and get their fourth win of the season when they face the Chargers on Sunday.

Offensively, the Broncos are averaging 22.8 points per game, which is 19th in the league. The team brought in quarterback Case Keenum during the offseason, hoping he could lead them back into the playoffs but he has been inconsistent this season.
Keenum has completed 63.6 percent of his passes for 2,400 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He has also lost six fumbles this season. Phillip Lindsay leads the team with 591 rushing yards and three touchdowns and has been one of the few bright spots on offense for Denver this season.
Denver’s defense was supposed to be the team’s strength, but the unit hasn’t played as well as expected. The Broncos are giving up 23.7 points per game, which is 15th in the league. The team will need to defense to step up to get the win against the Chargers, who have one of the best offenses in the league this year.
Chargers Going For Eighth Win In Nine Games
The Chargers were expected to be improved this season, but not too many people expected them to be 7-2 at this point in the season. They have won their last six games and will try to make it seven in a row and eight wins in their last nine games when they play their rivals on Sunday.

Los Angeles has done a great job on the offensive end this season, averaging 26.7 points per game, which is 10th in the league. Philip Rivers isn’t showing any signs of slowing down and has completed 67.3 percent of his passes for 2,459 yards, 21 touchdowns, and four interceptions.
Melvin Gordon continues to do a good job running the ball, leading the team with 672 yards and seven touchdowns. He also has 36 catches for 361 yards and four touchdowns.
The Chargers have also played well defensively this season, holding opponents to 20.7 points per game, which is eighth in the league. If they play like they have for most of the season, they should be able to get the win over the Broncos and stay within striking distance of the Kansas City Chiefs, who currently lead the AFC West.
Los Angeles is:
- 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games overall.
- 5-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.
- 6-0 ATS in its last 6 games in November.
- 1-6 ATS in its last 7 vs. AFC West.
- 1-6 ATS in its last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
- 0-6 ATS in its last 6 games in November.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
The Chargers have played well against the spread this season. They have won four of their last five games and five of their last six games against teams with losing records. The Broncos have struggled against the spread, losing six of their last seven games against AFC West teams and six of their last seven road games against teams with winning home records.
Prediction: Los Angeles Chargers -7
Full-Game Total Pick
The total has gone under in three of Denver’s last four games against teams with winning records and in four of the team’s last five games after their bye week. The total has also gone under in seven of Los Angeles’ last eight games against AFC West teams and in four of their last five overall.
Prediction: Under 46.5
Full-Game Prop Bet
The Chargers are averaging 26.7 points per game but they will fail to go over 26.5 points in this game because the Broncos are giving up 23.7 points per game and the Chargers have failed to go over 25 points in their last three games.
Prediction: Chargers – Total Points Under 26.5
Half-Time Side Pick
The Chargers will win the first half because they have played better than the Broncos in the first half. They are averaging 16.3 points per game while the Broncos average 12.9 points. They have also played better on the defensive end, holding opponents to 9.9 points per game, while the Broncos are giving up 13.4 points per game.
Prediction: Los Angeles Chargers -4.5
Half-Time Total Bet
The Chargers and Broncos will play over the total in the first half even though they are both playing well defensively because they are averaging 29.2 combined points in the first half, and should be able to score enough points to go over the total.
Prediction: Over 23
Half-Time Prop Prediction
The Chargers will score the first points in this game because they are averaging 9.3 points at home in the first quarter, while the Broncos are averaging four points per game on the road in the first quarter.
Prediction: Team to Score First Chargers -160
