Check out our Best NFL Plays in this week’s Fab-Five:
The Indianapolis Colts will look for a much-needed win when they travel to NRG Stadium to take on the Houston Texans. The Colts were on a roll but lost last week to push the team’s record back to 6-6. Meanwhile, the Texans are the hottest team in the entire league as the team has won nine straight games. Look for this game to be competitive as both teams need to win this game in order to potentially win this division.
Andrew Luck Looks To Carry Colts Once Again
This season was supposed to be a very important one for the Colts as star quarterback Andrew Luck was finally healthy for the first time in several years. The Colts were expected to rely on Luck to lead the team to multiple victories despite the team’s lack of talent and depth. That prediction has been extremely accurate as the Colts’ season has relied on his shoulders throughout the team’s first 12 games. The Colts have also had a serious of quality performances from running backs Marlon Mack and Nyheim Hines to help establish some offensive balance. However, the team was surprisingly shutout last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars as the team lost 6-0.

The Colts offense is led by star quarterback Andrew Luck who has not missed a step since returning from injury. This season, Luck has thrown for over 3,300 passing yards and 32 passing touchdowns with 12 interceptions. Luck has proven once again that he is truly an elite quarterback and he will need to do most of the heavy lifting if the Colts plan on winning this tough road game. Look for Luck to have a lot of opportunities to leave his imprint on this game as a result.
Indianapolis’ offense is currently averaging 27.1 points per game which is the eighth-most in the league. The team is also averaging 271.0 passing yards per game which ranks tenth.
Texans Have Won Nine Straight Games
Last season, the Houston Texas were awful as the team went 4-12. However, that was due to an injury to the team’s starting quarterback. This season, the Texans appear to be contenders in the AFC with everyone healthy once again. After starting out 0-3, the team has won nine straight games and has lived up to all the hype it had when the season begun. However, the AFC South is still up in the air and the Texans could basically win the division with a victory in this game. Look for them to leave it all on the field in this one.

- Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Houston.
- Over is 4-1 in Texans last 5 games after allowing less than 15 points in their previous game.
- Over is 7-3 in Colts last 10 games after allowing less than 250 total yards in their previous game.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
Although Indianapolis lost last week, I simply cannot see the Texans being worthy of laying more than four points in this game. The Colts have a fantastic offense that already torched the Texans for 34 points earlier this season. I think that Houston should win this game but I see the Colts losing by a maximum of three points. Give me the underdog plus the points in this one as a result.
Prediction: Colts +4.5
Full-Game Total Pick
Both teams have the ability to score a lot of points and I think that their respective defenses are decent at best. Both teams have top-12 offenses and I think both quarterbacks would put on a show like they did in the first meeting which combined for 71 points. I think this total is a bit too low as a result so I recommend the over in this matchup.
Prediction: Over 49.5
