Vikings Trying To Bounce Back From Loss to Packers

The Vikings were embarrassed at home by their bitter rivals in their last game and will try to bounce back from the loss with a win over the Colts.

Offensively, the Vikings took a while to get going, but they finished with 34 points in the loss. The team passed for 248 yards and rushed for 134 yards in the loss.

Kirk Cousins completed 19 of 25 passes for 259 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Dalvin Cook finished with 50 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while Adam Thielen had six catches for 110 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively, the Vikings didn’t play well in their last game, giving up 43 points. They had a hard time against the pass, giving up 364 yards and four touchdowns and didn’t get a sack. They will need to play with more intensity and get after the quarterback if they want to get the win.

Minnesota’s Injury Report

Out: CB Cameron Dantzler, C Pat Elflein, DE Danielle Hunter, and DB Myles Dorn

Colts Going For Sixth Consecutive Win Over Vikings

The Colts blew a big lead in their last game and ended up losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Despite their loss, they will go into this game with some confidence because they have defeated the Vikings five consecutive times.

Offensively, Indianapolis scored 20 points in their road-opener, spoiling quarterback Philip Rivers’ debut with the team. They finished the game with 257 passing yards and 88 rushing yards with two interceptions and will need to have more balance offensively if they want to get the win.

Rivers completed 36 of 46 passes for 363 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Marlon Mack finished the game with 26 yards on four carries but left early with an injury. He is expected to miss the rest of the season due to a ruptured Achilles. Rookie Johnathan Taylor is expected to take over as a starter.

Defensively, the Colts didn’t play well, giving up 27 points in the loss. They couldn’t slow down Gardner Minshew, who completed 19 of 20 passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns and will need to play better if they want to avoid a 0-2 start.

Indianapolis’ Injury Report

Questionable: CB Isaiah Rodgers, DE Justin Houston, WR Zach Pascal, WR Michael Pittman Jr., and DB Julian Blackmon

Out: TE Jack Doyle, RB Marlon Mack, DT Sheldon Day, and TE Trey Burton

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.

Full-Game Side Bet
Rating:

The Colts had a hard time running the ball in their last game and the team got more bad news on Monday when it was confirmed that Mack is done for the rest of the season. Even though they were torched for 43 points against the Packers, the Vikings have a good defense and will apply a lot of pressure on Rivers, especially if they can’t get going on the ground. Rivers is prone to throwing interceptions under pressure and had two in their last game, so expect a few more in this game. The Vikings didn’t play well offensively for three quarters, but they got going in the fourth quarter. Even though they abandoned their ground game early because they were behind, Cook finished with 50 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries. Expect to see a heavy dose of Cook in this game and a Vikings win.

Prediction: Minnesota Vikings +|3

Rating:

The Colts will have trouble scoring in this game because they do not have a good ground game without Mack. With Rivers doing all the heavy lifting, the Vikings defense should be able to keep Indianapolis’ offense in check. The Vikings struggled offensively in their last game, but they still managed to score 34 points against s good defensive team. Even though they will be able to score against the Colts, they won’t score enough to push the score over the total.

Prediction: Under 49

Half-Time Side Pick
Rating:

The Colts will win the first half of this game because they have outplayed the Vikings in the first half, averaging 17 points per game, while the Vikings average 10 points per game.

Prediction: Indianapolis Colts

Half-Time Total Bet
Rating:

The Colts and Vikings are averaging 27 combined points per game in the first half of their games and will go over the first half total in this game if they maintain their current scoring pace.
