The Miami Dolphins (0-2) will travel to Jacksonville, looking for their first win on the season against the Jaguars (1-1) on Thursday night.

Jacksonville is coming off of a 33-30 loss as a seven-point road underdog to the Titans. Miami lost at home to Buffalo 31-28 as a 5.5-point dog.

The Dolphins and Jaguars last met on December 23, 2018, when Jacksonville came away with a 17-7 win at Miami.

Line movements: This game has gone from a pick 'em to Jacksonville -3 with the Jaguars grabbing a solid 71 percent of the bets.

The total was originally set at 44 points but has climbed to 49 with 75 percent of the bets going on the over.

Game-time Weather: Temperature in the high-70s, intermittent clouds, winds from the southeast at five to 10 miles per hour with gusts near 15 mph. Rain is not expected to be a factor though humidity will be high.

Dolphins fall to Bills in shootout

After going 5-11 last season, former Patriots defensive coordinator Brian Flores has dropped his first two games in his second season as the head coach in Miami.

In the 2020 NFL Draft, Miami used the No. 5 pick to draft Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, but for now, 37-year old veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is still the starter. Fitzpatrick has completed 51 of 77 passes for 519 yards, with two touchdowns and three picks. Fitzpatrick threw three picks in with no interceptions in the opener against the Patriots and had a much better game last week against Buffalo when he threw for 31 of 47 from 328 yards and two touchdowns.

The Dolphins are 26th in the league average 93 yards per game on the ground on 3.8 yards per attempt.

Defensively the Dolphins are currently third to last in the league, allowing 440.5 yards per game and 19th, allowing 26 points per contest.

Injury Report:

Out: DE Jason Strowbridge, CB Byron Jones

Doubtful: S Clayton Fejedelem

Jaguars fall short to Titans

On Sunday, Jacksonville fell behind 24-10 at halftime to Tennessee but rallied back to tie the game at 30 with 7:25 remaining in the game. The Titans took the lead on a 49 years field goal with 1:45 left to play. On the final Jacksonville possession, Gardener Minshew was intercepted with 51 seconds remaining and sealing the win for the Titans.

Minshew threw for 339 yards with three touchdowns and two picks for the game, completing 30 of 45 pass attempts. Minshew completed 19 of 20 for 173 yards with three touchdowns and no turnovers in the Jags 27-20 season-opening win over the Colts.

Jacksonville is 13th with 128 rushing yards per game, led by James Robinson, who has 164 yards on 5.1 yards per carry this season. Against Tennesse, Robinson rushed for 102 yards on 16 carries with a touchdown.

Defensively the Jaguars are 20th, allowing26.5 points per game and 24th allowing 399.5 yards per game.

Injury Report:

Out: K Josh Lambo, G Brandon Linder

Questionable: WR D.J. Chark

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.

Full-Game Side Bet
Rating:

Gardner Minshew and the Jaguars have exceeded expectations through the first two weeks getting off to a 1-1 start after being a touchdown underdog in both games. Their offense has been better than advertised, despite suffering some key losses in the offseason.

The Dolphins have lost 14 of their last 16 games on the road, and we have a small spread here that is close to a pick 'em. I have to take the Jaguars at home here until Miami proves that they can win in these situations.

Prediction: Jacksonville Jaguars -2

Full-Game Total Pick
Rating:

The Dolphins defense allowed more than 30 points per game last season, and have given up 26 points per game through the first two games of 2020.

The Jaguars have combined for 47 points and 63 points in their first two games of the season.

I think that combined Fitzpatrick and Minshew should generate enough offense to get this game over the total.

Prediction: Over 47
