NRFI Best Bet Today #1: Pittsburgh Pirates vs Milwaukee Brewers (-105)

The Pirates and Brewers clash in Milwaukee tonight with both sitting top ten in NRFI results this season. Braxton Ashcraft will be the “starter” for Pittsburgh tonight although he shouldn’t see more than one or two innings of work.

Milwaukee specifically is one of the worst first inning scoring teams in the league and actually the worst at home failing to score in the first in 89% of home games on the season.

Ashcraft only has 11.2 innings of work this season but he hasn’t allowed an earned run on the road in six of those innings.

Chad Patrick starts for the Brewers going against a Pittsburgh offense that ranks bottom three in team batting average and dead last in slugging percentage on the season.

Patrick has held opponents scoreless in the first inning in 12 of 15 starts this season including six straight with the Pirates failing to score in the first in six straight themselves. Play on a Pirates vs Brewers NRFI today with odds listed at -105 and first pitch at 7:40PM ET.

NRFI Best Bet Today #2: Boston Red Sox vs Los Angeles Angels (-110)

The Red Sox continue their nine-game west coast trip in Anaheim tonight taking on the Angels with Boston only scoring three runs per game through the first six games.

They’ll face starter Jack Kochanowicz who on the surface may not look like a great pitcher but he has held opponents scoreless in the first inning in 11 of 15 starts this season including his last two.

Boston sits bottom ten in first inning scoring on the road this season failing to do so in 75% of games away from Fenway Park.

They’ll send Walker Buehler to the mound who hasn’t allowed a first inning run in eight of 12 total starts this season with LA sitting bottom ten in first inning scoring at home, failing to do so in 76% of those games.

The Angels sit second to last in team batting average on the season which includes hitting just .221 in home games.

Buehler had an atrocious start last time out at Seattle so expect adjustments to be made for him to come out of the games strong. Play on a Red Sox vs Angels NRFI to occur tonight with first pitch at 9:38PM ET and odds listed at -110.
