Expert WNBA Props for Wednesday: Jewell Loyd, Aces OVER 18.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-102)

Jewell Loyd has found her groove recently as she’s recorded 20+ PRAs and 11+ field goal attempts in five straight games.

When taking 10+ field goal attempts, Loyd has covered this line in 7/8 games this season and 39/41 games last season.

Loyd has also thrived against the Connecticut Sun with 25+ PRA in four straight head-to-head games including a game on May 20th where she played only 21 minutes.

The Sun allow the most rebounds, 2nd most points and 5th most assists in the WNBA. Connecticut ranks 8th in guarding at-the-break threes where Loyd scores 55% of her points and they rank bottom 2 in spot-up and off-screen defense (her other top 2 scoring types).

A’ja Wilson has returned to action, but Loyd has still thrived with 22 and 20 PRA across two 34-minute efforts.

The Aces are favored -18.5 points, but Loyd has already shown the ability to cover this line against the Sun even in a blowout.

Expert WNBA Props for Wednesday: Kayla Thornton, Valkyries OVER 6.5 Rebounds (-114)

Kayla Thornton has only covered this line in 5 of 13 games on the season (avg 7.2) but she has covered this line in 4 of her last 5 games when playing 21+ minutes.

Her teammates Janelle Salaun and Temi Fagbenle are both playing in the EuroBasket tournament and that has left a boatload of minutes and rebounding opportunities for players like Thornton.

The New York Liberty have allowed the 3rd most rebounds this season, and their interior is even weaker now as Jonquel Jones is on the shelf with an ankle injury.

Without Jones in the mix, we have seen Nneka Ogwumike grab 7 rebounds, Alyssa Thomas 15 rebounds, Satou Sabally 9 rebounds and Angel Reese 11 rebounds.

Thornton fell short on the hook with 6 rebounds in both of her head-to-head meetings with the Liberty this season and Salaun collected 13 rebounds in one of those games.

There will be much less competition on the glass tonight and the Valkyries are 8-point home underdogs so we should see a close game leading to full minutes.
