Expert WNBA Props for Tuesday: Napheesa Collier, Lynx OVER 22.5 Points (-120)
Napheesa Collier is the midst of an MVP-caliber season and she’ll be going toe-to-toe with her biggest competition in Caitlin Clark in a standalone game that will determine the Commissioners Cup.
Collier has cleared this line in 10/12 games (avg 25.8/game) excluding the injury game against the Las Vegas Aces where she played less than 20 minutes.
The Indiana Fever have the 2nd best spot-up defense, but they give up the 4th most points in the paint on the season (Most L5 games) and that’s where Collier scores 61% of her points.
Indiana is trending in the wrong direction defensively overall as they rank 6th best in D-rating on the season but 5th worst during the last 5 games.
The Fever sit middle of the pack in points allowed to opposing forwards, but they have struggled with high usage players including Paige Bueckers who scored 27 points, Kelsey Plum (21), Skylar Diggins (22), A’ja Wilson (24) and Tina Charles (20).
Collier hasn’t faced the Fever yet this season, but she has scored 23+ points in three straight head-to-head games including 26- and 32-point efforts last season.
Clark is listed as questionable, but this is the Commissioners Cup Final that includes a nice cash prize bonus.
This sets up as a highly competitive game and Clark being on the floor not only increases the pace but gives Collier some added motivation to ball out.
Expert WNBA Props for Tuesday: Caitlin Clark, Fever UNDER 19.5 Points (-130)
Caitlin Clark has been dealing with a groin injury that has cost her two games, and she was only able to resume to partial practice today.
However, we should expect a full effort to give it a go in the Commissioners Cup Final and if she doesn’t’ play it’s just a voided ticket.
Clark has really struggled on the road this season, falling short of this line in all four games while averaging a horrendous 30% from the field and 3% from beyond the arc.
Now she has to deal with a Minnesota Lynx team that allow the fewest points at-the-break and that’s where Clark scores 50% of her points.
Minnesota averages the second lowest foul rate in the WNBA and that’s where Clark scores another 11% of her points.
Combine that with a lingering injury, and it makes for an extremely tough spot for Clark to thrive as a scorer. If Clark winds up being limited or getting pulled from the game, we get as easy cashed ticket.
