MLB Player Props Today for Friday: Jackson Chourio, Brewers OVER 1.5 (-145)

Jackson Chourio is swinging a hot stick as he’s covered this HRR line in six straight games and 7 of his last 8 games.

Chourio has feasted on left-handed pitching, posting a .356 batting average across 109 plate appearances while clearing this line in 15 of his last 20 games against a southpaw starter.

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Mitchell Parker is one of the worst lefties in the MLB as he’s posted a 5.39 xERA (8th percentile) and .292 xBA (6th percentile).

Parker has struggled on the road where he’s posted a 5.66 ERA across 41.1 innings of work. Chourio hits Parkers pitch mix well as he’s logged a .405 batting average on off-speed pitches and he’s already gone 2-4 against him with a double.

The 21-year-old center fielder will also get cracks at a Nationals bullpen that ranks 28th in ERA (5.98) and 26th in xFIP (4.47) during the last 30 days.

Chourio hasn’t been as good at home, but he’ll be leading off against vulnerable pitching that he’s thrived against in the past.

MLB Player Props Today for Friday: Addison Barger, Blue Jays OVER 2.5 (+115)

Addison Barger has covered this plus money HRR line in 6 of his last 9 games overall and 3 of his last 4 games while playing on the road.

Now Barger gets an opportunity to feast on Luis Severino who has been an absolute gas can with a 5.30 ERA on the season and he’s allowed 5+ earned runs in each of his last three outings for a combined 17 runs across 13 IP. 

Severino has been even worse at home in the minor league facility where he’s posted a 7.04 ERA and .298 OBA across 61.1 IP.

Barger has hit all 12 of his home runs against right-handed pitching while posting a .274 batting average compared to a .211 batting average against lefties.

The 25-year-old hasn’t faced Severino yet, but a few key hitters have hit Severino well including Bo Bichette 3-9 and Vladimir Guerrero Jr 4-12 HR.

The Blue Jays have been smashing right-handed pitching as they rank 4th in wRC+, 2nd in wOBA and #1 in K/BB ratio during the last 30 days.

We will temperatures approaching 100 degrees and Barger will be guaranteed a full 9 innings of at-bats while batting 5th behind hitters like Guerrero Jr. and Bichette.
