If it isn’t broken don’t fix it. We cashed on a Brewers vs Mariners NRFI last night and we’re going to play on another NRFI in this series finale today at 3:40PM ET.

There have been just seven total runs scored in the first two games of this series with the Brewers sending Quinn Priester to the mound.

We’ve documented Seattle’s offensive woes at home before as they’ve now been held scoreless in the first inning in 13 straight games.

Priester hasn’t allowed a first inning run in eight of his 13 starts on the season including last time out at the Dodgers where he fired six scoreless innings while striking out ten.

Luis Castillo starts for Seattle and he has been spectacular in the first inning this season holding opponents scoreless in the first in 19 of his 20 starts including 12 straight.

Milwaukee hitters are batting just .178 against Castillo while slugging .315 with the Brewers achieving a NRFI in nine of their last ten games.

Milwaukee has now been held scoreless in the first in ten straight games so let’s play on a Brewers vs Mariners NRFI once again to occur today with odds listed at -140.

NRFI Best Bet Today #2: New York Yankees vs Toronto Blue Jays (-115)

We could be in-store for a pitchers duel tonight as the Yankees and Blue Jays cap off their three-game series in Toronto.

Ace Max Fried starts for New York posting a 2.43 ERA for the season and hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 15 of his 20 starts as well.

Opposing Blue Jays hitters are collectively batting just .184 against Fried all-time while slugging .250. Sure, Toronto scored in the first inning yesterday, but they’ve had a NRFI occur in eight of their last ten games overall.

Chris Bassitt starts for the Blue Jays tonight sporting a 2.53 home ERA and an ERA of 1.89 in July so far (19 IP).

He’s held opponents scoreless in 14 of his 20 starts including three straight with the Yankees ranking bottom ten in team batting average since the all-star break.
