We have a very shortened slate today so we’re going out to the first game on the board today in Washington as the Athletics and Nationals wrap up their three-game series.

Lefty Mitchell Parker takes the mound for Washington allowing two home runs and eight earned runs in total during his last start against the Brewers pitching only four innings.

We’re taking a shot on Brent Rooker to hit his home run prop today batting .315 against lefties while posting a .584 slugging percentage compared to a .262 average and .475 slugging percentage against righties.

Rooker also thrives in day games slugging .568 compared to .462 during night games. Rooker had six home runs in July and has yet to hit one in August, but this situation looks like a great one for Rooker to change that today.

Rooker won’t likely top the 39 home runs he hit last season, but he should be north of 30 by season’s end.

Carlos Carrasco gets the start for Atlanta allowing eight total home runs in just 38 innings pitched this season for the Braves and Yankees.

The veteran simply just doesn’t have the stuff he used to allowing right handed batters to hit .299 off him while allowing a .642 slugging percentage.

Ramirez has done most of his power damage on the road this season sporting a .516 slugging percentage away from home compared to a .395 slugging percentage when playing in Miami.

Through six games in August he’s batting .318 to go along with a .591 slugging percentage and we’ll get an advantage if he’s listed as the DH instead of catcher tonight slugging .530 when listed as the DH compared to .389 when he’s catching.
