There have been just 6.5 runs scored per game in the first seven head to head matchups between these two with the last two ending in 1-0 results.

Casey Mize takes the mound for Detroit not allowing a first inning run in 17 of 21 starts this season. While he has been somewhat inconsistent in his last three starts, Mize still posts a 3.48 ERA in home starts this season.

Ryan Bergert takes the mound for Kansas City not allowing a first inning run in nine of ten starts this season.

Bergert has been exceptional on the road this season posting a 2.36 ERA compared to a 3.50 ERA at home. He was traded to the Royals at the end of July and in three starts with them posts a 2.70 ERA.

The Texas starter should have an outside shot at the AL Cy Young Award posting an 11-3 record and 1.76 ERA in 123 innings pitched this season.

He hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 18 of 21 starts this season including six straight. Slade Cecconi takes the mound for Cleveland not allowing a first inning run in 13 of 16 starts this season and although he posts a 4.50 ERA for the season, his ERA in road starts is 3.48.

The Rangers’ bats have been getting a little warmer as of late, but they along with the Guardians both sit bottom 11 in the MLB in team batting average since the all-star break.
