This guide breaks down the top Week 4 college football props, odds, and betting insights to help you get ready for kickoff.
Best College Football Player Props – Pick #1: Jackson Arnold, Auburn OVER ~42.5 Rushing Yards (-115)
Jackson Arnold makes his return to Memorial Stadium on Saturday as Auburn’s starting quarterback to take on Oklahoma where he played the last two seasons.
Arnold has been using his legs much more this season compiling 192 yards on the ground already compared to the 444 rushing yards he racked up in 10 games last season for Oklahoma.
We’re going to take Arnold to go over 42.5 rushing yards on Saturday with Oklahoma sitting second in the nation in fewest passing yards allowed per game this season only behind Nebraska.
Arnold used his legs more in big games last season rushing for 45 yards against Missouri, 131 against Alabama and 75 against LSU which all came in November.
That’s translated to this season with Arnold racking up 137 rushing yards in the season opener against Baylor and even last week’s game against South Alabama rushing for 50 yards in a 31-15 win.
With the Tigers listed as touchdown underdogs and this being a revenge game for Arnold, he should see plenty of opportunities to run especially when you consider how stout the Sooners secondary has been this season.
Sure, Arnold may take a sack or two which will lead to negative rushing yards but he’s averaged 11.5 rushing attempts per game and 5.5 yards per rush so let’s take him to go over 42.5 rushing yards in a revenge spot at Oklahoma.
College Football Player Props Prediction 2: Justice Haynes, Michigan OVER ~85.5 Rushing Yards (-115)
If Michigan is going to defeat Nebraska on the road Saturday they’re going to have to utilize their run game effectively with the Cornhuskers allowing the fewest rushing yards per game in the nation heading into Week 4.
Luckily for Michigan, they were able to find themselves a solid starting running back in the transfer portal in Justice Haynes who currently sits fifth in total rushing yards among all running backs in the nation at 388.
He’s averaging 7.9 yards per carry this season so far and while we don’t expect him to have that kind of success against Nebraska every rushing attempt we do expect him to top 85.5 yards rushing in total on Saturday.
Nebraska allows 136 rushing yards per game on the season including 82 on 13 carries to Houston Christian running back Xai’Shaun Edwards last week and 96 rushing yards to Cincinnati running back Brendan Sorsby in Week 1.
Haynes certainly has more talent than these two as he tries to make it easier for true freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood to complete passes through the air.
Haynes has averaged 16 carries per game this season so far so he’ll need to average 5.5 yards per rush to get over 85.5 rushing yards on Saturday.
Considering Nebraska’s success defending the pass and vulnerability to allow yards on the ground, don’t be surprised to see Haynes surpass the 20 attempt mark going up and over 85.5 rushing yards against the Cornhuskers.
