NFL Week 6 First Touchdown Props Prediction: Josh Jacobs, Green Bay Packers (+320)

Josh Jacobs only trails Jonhathan Taylor & Jahmyr Gibbs in red zone carries (22) and they have both played five games while Jacobs has only played four.

Jacobs has scored in 3 of those 4 games (4) while only failing to score against one of the NFL’s most elite run defenses in the Cleveland Browns.

None of those were first touchdowns, but Jacobs did log two first TDs during the 2024 campaign. Now Jacobs gets an opportunity to feast on a Cincinatti Bengals run defense that has already allowed 6 rushing touchdowns and the 8th most rushing yards with 132.2 per game.

The Bengals have allowed an opposing running back to score in each of their first five games including two the Detroit Lions tandem of Gibbs & David Montgomery last week.

The Packers have struck first in all four of their respective games while the Bengals have only scored first in 1 of their 5 games (20%).

Green Bay is also the biggest favorite of the Week 6 slate (-14) and Jacobs & company will have fresh legs while playing at home.

NFL Week 6 First Touchdown Props Prediction: Rico Dowdle, Carolina Panthers (+650)

Chuba Hubbard missed Week 5’s game against the Miami Dolphins due to a calf injury and Rico Dowdle took over with a tremendous 206 rushing yards on 23 carries while adding 3 receptions for 28 yards.

Dowdle also scored in that game and while he doesn’t have a first touchdown, he also managed to score in Week 3 despite seeing a minimal workload.

Hubbard missed practice on Thursday and Dowdle is licking his chops in anticipation of facing his former team in the Dallas Cowboys.

His quote was “buckle up” earlier this week. The Cowboys defense is hitting league lows in efficiency, and they rank dead last in success rate against the run (51.6%) and 11th in rushing yards allowed (127.4/game).

There is no edge in scoring first this season between these teams, but Carolina edged out Dallas by a few games in 2024.

I like the Panther chances of scoring first in a home game on Sunday and this is a great price on a highly motivated running back.
