NFL Week 7 First Touchdown Props Prediction: De’Von Achane, Miami Dolphins (+500)

De’Von Achane hasn’t scored a game first touchdown yet, but he does have three team first touchdowns and an anytime touchdown in 5/6 games & three straight games.

Ollie Gordon has been the Miami Dolphins red zone option with seven carries, but Achane has logged 13 looks with 9 carries and 4 receptions.

Now Miami is facing a Cleveland Browns run defense that has allowed the 3rd fewest rushing yards (79.7/game) so short passing could be a legit option.

We are going to see some extreme weather in this game with winds approaching 50-60 mph so Achane could be the ultimate weapon.

The Browns have only scored 2 first touchdowns this season and they have only scored two touchdowns in Dillon Gabriels two starts.

Meanwhile the Dolphins have scored first in three straight games and 4/6 games on the season. Both defenses could be options to score first at +475 but I’m backing Achane based on his ability to score on a short pass in horrible conditions.

NFL Week 7 First Touchdown Props Prediction: Josh Jacobs, Green Bay Packers (+275 or better)

Josh Jacobs got the job done for us last week at +325 odds, but his official first touchdown odds aren’t available for this game yet based on the uncertainty surrounding the status of Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray.

Jacobs only trails Jonhathan Taylor, Christian McCaffrey & Jahmyr Gibbs in red zone carries (23) and all three players have played five games while Jacobs has only played four.

The Green Bay running back has scored in 4 of those 5 games (6) while only failing to score against one of the NFL’s most elite run defenses in the Cleveland Browns.

Jacobs also logged two first TDs during the 2024 campaign. Arizona ranks middle of the pack in rushing touchdowns allowed to opposing running backs (4), but they are tied for the 3rd most RB receiving touchdowns (2).

The Packers have struck first in all five of their respective games while the Cardinals have only scored first in 2 of their 6 games (33.3%).

Green Bay is also one of the biggest favorites of the Week 7’s slate (-7) and the Cardinals will struggle to score if Murray is on the shelf.

Jacobs has missed some practice this week with an illness, and we will have to wait until closer to game time to make a play, but I have to look his way again after cashing in Week 6.
