The LA Chargers running back stable is completely decimated by injuries with Omarion Hampton & Najee Harris on the shelf and now Hassan Haskins is dealing with a hamstring injury that forced him to miss last week’s game.

Now Vidal is facing a Tennessee Titans run defense that ranks 29th in defensive rush EPA while allowing the 5th most rushing yards (142.6/game) and the MOST rushing touchdowns to opposing running backs.

We have seen opposing running backs carve up this defense as Jonathan Taylor ran for 153 & 102 yards while scoring three touchdowns twice, Rhamondre Stevenson ran for 88 yards & scored, Ashton Jeanty 75 yards & a score, Emari Demercado 81 yards, Woody Marks 66 yards & a score with Nick Chubb 47 yards in the same game, Kyren Williams 66 yards and RJ Harvey 70 yards with JK Dobbins 63 yards & a score in the same game.

This sets up as a run heavy game script for Vidal & the Chargers as they are favored by -9.5 with a total set low at 43.5.

Harbaugh spoke highly of Vidal this week stating that he’s a #1 NFL running back and Harbaugh loves to run the ball.

That was highlighted in Week 8’s 37-10 victory over Minnesota where the Chargers called 27 pass plays and 43 running plays. Vidal saw 23 of those carries and he’s set to see another heavy workload on Sunday.

NFL Week 9 Touchdown Player Props Prediction: Jaxon Smith-Njiba, Seattle Seahawks (-114)

Jaxon Smith-Njiba has scored a touchdown in 4 of his last 5 games including each of his last three games where he’s recorded a combined 417 receiving yards while catching 24 of 36 targets.

JSN is tied for the 4th most red area targets in the NFL behind only Ja’Marr Chase, Chris Olave & Christian McCaffrey and all three of those players have played one more game than him.

Now JSN gets an opportunity to feast on a Washington Commanders defense that has allowed 4th most passing touchdowns (15) and opposing quarterbacks have thrown for a league high 8.4 yards per attempt.

The Commanders have also allowed the 4th most yards and the 9th most touchdowns to opposing wide receivers.

Washington has also missed 65 tackles which is the 2nd most in the NFL and a big play receiver like Smith-Njiba can take advantage of that.

This is a prime-time Sunday Night Football game and JSN torched the Houston Texans for 123 yards and a touchdown in his last standalone game on October 20th.
