NBA Player Prop for Friday, November 7
Kel’el Ware (MIA) to Record a Double-Double vs Charlotte (EV)
Bam Adebayo is slated to miss tonight’s game against the Hornets. Miami and Charlotte just played on October 28 and the Heat enjoyed a 144-117 win. With Adebayo out of the lineup we should see plenty of usage for Kel’el Ware, who averaged 17 points and 10.8 rebounds per game in four games last season in which Adebayo didn’t play.
We’re getting even-money on Ware to record a double-double on Friday, which he did in 27 minutes against the Nuggets on Wednesday. Charlotte has improved its rebounding rate this season, but the Hornets have shown some vulnerabilities to opposing centers. Minnesota’s Rudy Gobert hauled in 15 rebounds and Philadelphia’s Andre Drummond had 13 rebounds in 16 minutes against the Hornets. The Hornets have allowed the third-most points per game to opposing centers so far this season.
With a relatively-low point spread of only 4-5 points, this should be a competitive game with a decreased chance of garbage time in the fourth quarter. Ware could see a season-high of minutes played, and after he recorded 15 double-doubles last season, we like his chances to add to that tally on Friday night.
NBA Betting Trends for Friday, November 7
#537 Cleveland Cavaliers at #538 Washington Wizards
Cleveland has won 12-straight meetings in this Eastern Conference clash, but the Wizards have stayed within the number as a double-digit ‘dog in the last two. The Wizards have lost and failed to cover their last six games.
#539 Boston Celtics at #540 Orlando Magic
Orlando won two of the three regular season meetings last year, but Boston made relatively short work of the Magic with a 4-1 series win in the playoffs. Orlando is 2-6 against the spread this season and the Magic have been favored in every game they have played thus far.
#541 Toronto Raptors at #542 Atlanta Hawks
The underdog has covered the spread in each of the last seven meetings, including three-straight outright upset wins by the Raptors last season. Toronto has won-and-covered three-straight games with all three of those games staying under the total.
#543 Detroit Pistons at #544 Brooklyn Nets
Detroit won-and-covered all three meetings last season with all three of those contests staying under the total. The Pistons have won-and-covered each of their last four games. Brooklyn earned its first win of the season on Wednesday with a 112-103 road win at Indiana. Brooklyn is 1-2 against the spread as a double-digit ‘dog so far, staying within the number against the Cavs but falling to the Rockets and Spurs.
#545 Houston Rockets at #546 San Antonio Spurs
Houston has won six of the last seven meetings. The Rockets won-and-covered each of the final three meetings last season. Six of the last seven meetings have stayed under the total. Houston is on a five-game winning streak (4-1 ATS). The Rockets are 4-0 against the spread on the road this season with all four of those games going over the total. The Spurs have dropped back-to-back games, but they are 3-0 straight-up and against the spread at home this season.
#547 Dallas Mavericks at #548 Memphis Grizzlies
Memphis has won-and-covered each of the last four meetings. The Mavericks have lost three-straight games. The under is 6-2 in Dallas’ games so far this season. Memphis is 1-5 straight-up, 0-6 against the spread over its last six games. Four of the Grizzlies’ last five games have stayed under the total and the lone game that went over only did so by a half-point.
#549 Utah Jazz at #550 Minnesota Timberwolves
Minnesota has won eight of the last nine meetings. The Timberwolves’ three wins last season came by an average of 20.7 points per game. This is the fifth-and-final game of a lengthy road trip for the Jazz, who have gone 1-3 straight-up and against the spread in the first four with all four of those games staying under the total. These teams will meet again in Salt Lake City on Monday.
#551 Charlotte Hornets at #552 Miami Heat
The Heat have won eight of the last nine meetings, including a 144-117 win on October 28. This is Miami’s first game at home in almost two weeks after a lengthy West Coast road trip.
#553 Chicago Bulls at #554 Milwaukee Bucks
These Central Division foes split their four meetings last season at two wins apiece. Four of the last five meetings have stayed under the total. Chicago is 6-1 straight-up, 5-1-1 against the spread this season. Milwaukee covered the spread in its first five games to open the season, but since then, the Bucks have dropped three-in-a-row at the betting window.
#555 Oklahoma City Thunder at #556 Sacramento Kings
Oklahoma City has won each of the last six meetings, including a 107-101 home win on October 28. That game stayed under the total by 20 points as Oklahoma City’s defense held the Kings to 39 points in the second half. The Thunder suffered their first loss of the season with a 121-119 road loss at Portland on Wednesday. Oklahoma City’s last four games have all gone over the total. The Kings have covered the number in four of their last five games. Just like the Thunder, Sacramento’s last four games have all gone over the total.
#557 Golden State Warriors at #558 Denver Nuggets
These teams opened the season with an overtime thriller in San Francisco as the Warriors earned a 137-131 win in overtime. Prior to that, each of the previous four meetings in this Western Conference clash stayed under the total. Golden State has lost three of its last four games while Denver has won five of its last six.
