Expert NBA Player Props for Tuesday: Marcus Smart, LA Lakers OVER 7.5 Points (-130)

Lebron James is making his 2025-26 debut tonight, but he won’t play full minutes in his first game back and Marcus Smart should still play a prominent role for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Smart has covered this line in 9/11 games (82%) on the season while averaging 10.2 points per game and his volume has been solid with an average of 7.9 field goal attempts per game.

The Utah Jazz rank 4th worst defensively against spot up shooters where Smart scores the majority of his points.

Smart is due for some positive regression after shooting 6-29 (21%) from beyond the arc in his last five games as he’s shot 25.5% on the season.

Some home cooking should help, as Smart see’s roughly a 7% increase in his three-point percentage in LA.

The Lakers are -12.5-point home favorites, but Smart has scored 11+ points in 3 of the 4 games where the Lakers won by 10+ points.

This game also features the highest total of Tuesday’s NBA slate (238.5) so there should be plenty of scoring opportunities to go around.

Expert NBA Player Props for Tuesday: Cedric Coward, Memphis Grizzlies OVER 12.5 Points (-125)

Cedric Coward has fallen short of this line in three straight games, but he’s been in the ballpark with 10, 12 & 11 points and he’s covered this number in 8/14 games on the season (57%).

Coward has also been consistent in minutes (26.7/game) and shot volume with 9.6 field goal attempts per game (4.4 3PT Att/game) and he’s worked his way to the charity stripe with 3.2 free throw attempts per game.

Speaking of three-point attempts, Coward is due for some positive regression as he’s gone 3-17 from long distance in his last three games.

Ja Morant remains out with a calf injury so there will be an average 16+ field goal attempts to go around, and some will definitely trickle down to the rookie Coward.

The San Antonio Spurs are missing all of their key youngsters as Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle & Dylan Harper are all on the shelf with injures and their defense will take a hit especially without Wemby in action.

The Spurs are still -6.5-point home favorites but it’s hard to project how the missing players on both sides will affect things. The total is 232.5 so there should be enough scoring opportunities for Coward to eclipse this number.
