Manchester City vs Leeds | November 29 | 10:00 AM ET

Two teams looking to bounce back from disappointing losses last week meet up on Saturday as Leeds take on Manchester City over at the Etihad.

After a bright start to their campaign, which saw Leeds sit joint-8th in the league on total points accumulated at the end of September, since then, however, it’s been all downhill for the Yorkshire men, with only bottom-of-the-table Wolves amassing fewer total points than Leeds since October 1st.

Similarly, Manchester City’s own good run came to a grinding halt last weekend as they were beaten 2-1 away at Newcastle.

However, in terms of home form, Manchester City have been much more dominant, sitting as the second-hottest team in the league in home form over their last six starts, generating 2.50 PPG on average, only marginally behind league-leaders Arsenal at 2.67 PPG.

The Cityzens have also failed to score in just one of those recent home matches also, and with Leeds keeping zero clean sheets across any of their last six road games, allowing four more goals than even Wolves managed across that same timeframe, we could well see this total hit at least three goals when all is said and done on Saturday.

Surprising defensive maestros Crystal Palace snuffed out the perceived new manager bounce of bottom-of-the-table Wolves last weekend as they came out of the Molineux with a routine 2-0 away victory.

That win marked Crystal Palace’s sixth clean sheet of the campaign so far, a statistic only bettered by league-leaders Arsenal this season, and the Eagles should be able to put on yet another defensive clinic this weekend also.

The Eagles have allowed just 0.33 GPG from open play on average this season, the second-lowest tally in the entire league, which is again behind only Arsenal, and that could prove decisive here this weekend against a Manchester United side that has scored just three goals from open play all year away from home, with 62.5% of all of Manchester United’s road goals coming from set-piece situations and own goals.

That said, United have also been doing much better defensively of late, moving from a season-long ranking of 11th in defensive xGA, all the way up to 5th since October 22nd.

Both teams are better than advertised defensively ahead of this one, and we believe this line is set just a quarter goal too high in a play where there’s likely some value on the Under.

Game of the weekend on Sunday as second-placed plays first in a big London derby down in the capital in the late game this weekend.

Arsenal have been almost impervious this season, with their late 1-0 road loss away to Liverpool back at the end of August being the only blemish so far on what’s otherwise been an almost perfect season.

Chelsea have also been playing extremely well of late, losing just once since September, an extremely surprising 2-1 loss at home to newly-promoted Sunderland, a win that came very late for the Black Cats with a goal in the 93rd minute during injury time.

Both teams will likely be extremely cagey ahead of this one as a slip-up by Arsenal here will allow Chelsea to come within a single game of the Gunners at the top of the table, while a win for Arsenal would leave them with a sizeable nine-point advantage on their rivals, something Chelsea would no doubt rather afford.

Nonetheless, both teams possess severe attacking threat this season, with Arsenal ranking joint-1st in total goals scored, while Chelsea sit 1st in offensive xG.

Three of Chelsea’s last four home games have seen either 2-3 goals being scored, along with five of Arsenal’s last seven road games also, and we believe there’s a distinct possibility that this goal band could land once again here on Sunday as well.
