College Football Props Week 0: Best Bets, Odds & Top Performers to Watch
College Football Props For Week 0: Best CFB Props
College football is finally back, and Week 0 offers bettors their first chance to dive into college football props and betting markets for the new season.
From quarterback passing yards to running back rushing totals and wide receiver touchdown odds, Week 0 college football props provide valuable opportunities for fans looking to get action on the earliest slate of games.
With matchups like Fresno State vs Kansas and other season-opening contests on the schedule, sportsbooks have already released lines, spreads, and totals that highlight key players to watch. This guide breaks down the top Week 0 college football props, odds, and betting insights to help you get ready for kickoff.
Best College Football Props – Pick #1: Daniel Hishaw, Kansas OVER ~86.5 Rushing Yards (-115)
With Devin Neal now in the pros, senior Daniel Hishaw is set to be the starting running back for Kansas this season opening up at home against Fresno State on Saturday.
The Bulldogs allowed 140 rushing yards per game last season which actually wasn’t too shabby compared to the rest of the Mountain West, but Kansas averaged 212 rushing yards per game which ranked top 15 in College Football.
Neal averaged 18 rushing attempts per game last season and we wouldn’t be surprised to see Hishaw come out of the gates with 15-20 carries against Fresno State, especially if they get ahead late in the game.
Hishaw’s rushing yards prop is currently listed at 86.5 and should he carry the ball 15 times averaging the 5.8 yards per carry he had last season, he’ll net 87 rushing yards.
We think he passes this number with ease though so take Hishaw to go over his rushing yards prop of 86.5 (good to 91.5) at home against Fresno State on Saturday.
College Football Props Prediction 2: Hunter Watson, Sam Houston OVER ~180.5 Passing Yards (-115)
With a total now hovering around 60, it looks like we could be set for a shootout in Week 0 in Sam Houston vs Western Kentucky.
It’s head scratching to us that Hunter Watson’s passing yard prop number is listed at only 180.5 at the time of this writing.
If this total is going to get anywhere near 60, Watson is going to have to go over this number. He did only average 150 yards passing per game last season but in limited playing time against the Hilltoppers last season Watson was 6/9 with 128 yards and two touchdowns.
Although Watson only averaged 150 passing yards per game last season as a whole he did net 200+ yards passing in his last two games.
With ending last season on a high note, let’s take Watson to get up and over 180.5 yards passing on the road as it’s worth noting Sam Houston are 10-point underdogs heading in so they’ll likely be throwing the ball more as the game progresses given they’re losing late.
