It’s time to pick on another Rockies starting pitcher at home tonight as this time it’s Tanner Gordon who gets the nod against the Diamondbacks.
While we whiffed on Ketel Marte to hit a home run yesterday we’re going with Corbin Carroll tonight to hit his home run prop.
Although Carroll doesn’t have a hit in three at-bats against Gordon lifetime, Gordon has allowed four of his five home runs to left-handed batters and three of his five home runs coming at home in just 12.1 innings pitched compared to the other two coming on the road in 21 innings pitched.
Yesterday was Carroll’s first game at Coors Field this season, but last season in Denver Carroll went 8-24 with three home runs and 14 of Carroll’s 26 home runs this season have come on the road.
In August Carroll is batting .250 while sporting a .596 slugging percentage with Gordon allowing a home run in three straight starts including his last at Arizona allowing ten earned runs in just 4.2 innings pitched.

MLB HR Props Best Bet of the Day #2: Brent Rooker (ATH) +300
Brent Rooker had just one hit in ten at bats during their series against the Rays, but now that the Angels are in town sending Yusei Kikuchi to the mound tonight, we think he has a shot to hit his home run prop.
Even though he struggled last series, Rooker is still batting .281 at home while sporting a .491 slugging percentage.
Against the Angels specifically this season the Athletics outfielder is 10-28 with three home runs with Kikuchi posting a 4.50 road ERA this season compared to a 2.40 ERA when pitching at home.
The Angels starter has given up 16 of his 17 home runs to right handed batters and we think there is some regression to the means tonight giving up no home runs in his last two starts (11 IP) at Detroit and at home vs Tampa Bay.
