Although Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s power has taken a backseat this season for the Blue Jays the team still finds themselves atop the AL East as they welcome in divisional foe Yankees to the Rogers Centre for a three-game series.

Lefty Carlos Rodon takes the mound for New York and we could see a resurgence of Guerrero Jr.’s power tonight.

The Blue Jays first baseman is 9-15 with three doubles and a home run all-time against Rodon and has had success against left-handed pitching in general batting .329 with a .541 slugging percentage against lefties compared to a .262 average and .407 slugging percentage against righties.

Rodon was solid in his last start before the all-star break, but did allow two home runs in five innings at the Mets in his start before that.

Guerrero Jr. did hit a home run in yesterday’s series finale against the Giants so we’re going to parlay his hot bat into a home run prop bet today with odds at +450.

Other Blue Jays hitters to take advantage of to hit a home run today include George Springer (+400) and Bo Bichette (+520).

The Cardinals and Rockies go head-to-head for the first time this season with St. Louis looking to snap a three-game losing streak.

Contreras is 2-5 with two home runs all-time against Gomber and in general Contreras likes facing left-handed pitching this season.

He’s slugging .505 against lefties compared to .389 against righties with Gomber allowing a home run in each of his last three starts.

He has allowed four of his six home runs in home starts while sporting a 7.36 ERA and .369 opponent batting average compared to a 3.86 ERA and .263 opponent batting average on the road.

Contreras has just one home run this month after hitting five in June so let’s take him to hit a home run tonight at +330 with other Cardinals batters to consider for a home run include Ivan Herrera (+420) and former Rockies’ star Nolan Arenado (+460).
