NRFI Best Bet Today #1: Kansas City Royals vs Toronto Blue Jays (-130)

The Royals and Blue Jays meet for the first time this season in Toronto as Michael Wacha gets the start for the road team. He hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 20 of his 21 starts on the season.

The Blue Jays did score nine runs in their series finale at Baltimore but in their four games before that scored four or less runs in all games.

Toronto hasn’t scored in the first inning in nine straight games with the Royals still sitting atop the MLB in NRFI results on the season.

The Blue Jays send Kevin Gausman to the mound who hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 14 of 21 starts this season and posted a 2.51 ERA in July across five starts with three of those coming against the Yankees and Tigers.

With two veterans starting today and both teams still fighting for playoff positioning, let’s play on a Royals vs Blue Jays NRFI to happen at -130 odds today and first pitch at 7:07 PM ET.

NRFI Best Bet Today #2: San Francisco Giants vs New York Mets (-140)

We’ll head to Queens for a lefty vs lefty matchup for our second NRFI play as the Mets host the Giants for a three game series.

Robbie Ray starts for the Giants holding opponents scoreless in the first inning in 17 of 22 starts on the season.

The Mets sit bottom ten in batting average against lefties on the season and second to last in overall batting average since the all-star break.

Ray’s last start actually came against this Mets team in San Francisco against Mets starter David Peterson tonight in which that game went to a NRFI and only three total runs were scored.

Peterson has held opponents scoreless the first inning in 17 of his 20 starts this season with the Giants sitting dead last in batting average against lefties.

In July Peterson posted a 1.05 ERA in four starts and sports a 1.91 home ERA on the season. Play on Giants vs Mets NRFI to occur tonight with first pitch slated for  7:10 PM ET and odds listed at -140.
