The Orioles are making an argument for the most disappointing MLB team this season as they host the Mariners for the second of their three-game series.

They’ll send lefty Trevor Rogers to the mound today who has actually been a bright spot in the Orioles rotation since he made his season debut in June. He posts a 0.42 home ERA on the season and has held opponents scoreless in the first inning in all ten of his starts.

The Mariners will send out Logan Gilbert who hasn’t given up a first inning run in nine of his 16 starts, but that does include four straight.

Sure, Gilbert posts a 5.28 road ERA but in his last 30 days he has a 3.22 ERA. Both the Mariners and Orioles sit bottom three in team batting average across the last 15 days so let’s play on a Mariners vs Orioles NRFI to occur today at -125 and first pitch at 6:35PM ET.

NRFI Best Bet Today #2: Miami Marlins vs Cleveland Guardians (-130)

Gavin Williams gets the start for Cleveland today as they host Miami after notching a 4-3 win at home last night.

Williams has been superb since the all-star break posting a 1.30 ERA and coming off an outing where he was an out short of a complete game at the Mets while allowing just one earned run.

Tonight he gets a Marlins offense that has been stale as of late, losing four straight while scoring under three runs per game during that time.

Williams hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 17 of 23 starts this season going up against Eury Perez of Miami.

Perez hasn’t allowed a first inning run in seven of 11 starts this season and although he was shaky in his last start at Atlanta, he had allowed just three earned runs combined in his three prior starts (16 IP) against the Padres, Brewers and Yankees.

Now he gets a Guardians team that ranks bottom ten in team batting average over the last seven days and although Cleveland is on a four-game YRFI streak, they’re still top five in NRFI results on the season.
