We’re going to one of the first games on the board today for our first NRFI play as the Orioles and Phillies wrap up a three-game series in Philadelphia.

It’s a lefty vs lefty matchup as Trevor Rogers starts for Baltimore sporting a 1.44 ERA on the season and not allowing a first inning run in all nine starts.

He’s been stellar as of late allowing just one earned run and five hits across his last two starts combined (15 IP) with the Phillies playing to a NRFI in eight of their last ten games.

They’ll send Ranger Suarez to the mound who although sports a 4.11 home ERA, hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 15 of his 16 starts on the season.

The Orioles rank bottom ten in batting average against left handed pitching this season with these two playing to a NRFI last night. Play on an Orioles vs Phillies NRFI to occur today with odds listed at -130 and first pitch at 12:35PM ET.

NRFI Best Bet Today #2: St. Louis Cardinals vs Los Angeles Dodgers (+100)

Shohei Ohtani makes his eighth start of the season today at home taking on a Cardinals team that ranks bottom six in batting average since the all-star break.

Ohtani hasn’t allowed a first inning run in just four of his seven starts but the Cardinals have now failed to score in the first inning in 11 straight games with Ohtani not allowing a run in eight innings pitched during day starts.

Lefty Matthew Liberatore gets the nod for the Cardinals posting a 3.52 road ERA and 2.62 ERA in day starts.

He hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 15 of his 20 starts on the season and although the Dodgers have one of the best lineups in the league, we think Liberatore should take advantage of the lefty vs left matchups he’ll have against Ohtani and Freddie Freeman in the first inning.

We understand this Cardinals vs Dodgers NRFI pick is slightly risky but the +100 odds reflects that.
