The Pirates have played to a NRFI in seven of their last ten games as they were swept by the White Sox in their first series after the break scoring just 2.5 runs per game.

We’re set for an interleague battle in Chicago today as the Royals and Cubs go head-to-head. Rookie Noah Cameron takes the mound for Kansas City not allowing a first inning run in 10 of his 12 starts this season including three straight.
The Royals lefty has been much more effective in road starts this season posting a 0.93 ERA and .160 opponent batting average compared to home starts sporting a .3.29 ERA and .209 opponent batting average.
It looks like it will be a bullpen game for the Cubs who will open with Ryan Brasier tonight. Brasier doesn’t have any starts this season but does post a 1.04 ERA in 17.1 innings pitched including zero earned runs allowed in his last 12 appearances.
The Royals haven’t scored a first inning run in their last eight games and actually lead the league in NRFI results this season.
