They now head to Tampa Bay to take on the Rays with Jack Flaherty taking the mound. He hasn’t allowed an earned run in the first inning in 13 of 14 starts this season including six straight with the Tigers playing to a NRFI in seven of their last ten games.
The Rays haven’t scored in the first inning in 76% of games this season as they send Shane Baz to the mound.
The Rays Starter has also not allowed a first inning run in 13 of 14 starts this season including 10 straight and not allowing a run in general in his last start at the Mets going 6.2 innings while allowing just three hits.

NRFI Best Bet Today #2: Houston Astros vs Los Angeles Angels (-150)
AL West rivals clash in Los Angeles tonight as the Astros and Angels play the first of a three game series. Righty Hunter Brown gets the start for Houston sporting a 1.88 ERA for the season and a WHIP at 0.93.
He hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 11 of 14 total starts this season including four straight with current Angels hitters collectively batting just .139 against him all-time.
It’s also worth noting the Angels haven’t scored in the first inning in 74% of home games this season compared to 58% of games on the road.
Lefty Yusei Kikuchi starts for the Angels with current Astros hitters batting .205 against him all time as he sports a 1.05 home ERA this season in 34.1 innings pitched.
He hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 11 of 15 starts this season with the Astros now sitting as the worst first inning scoring team in the MLB failing to do so in 80% of their games.
