MLB Player Props Today for Thursday: Juan Soto, Mets OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-145)

Don’t look now but Juan Soto has caught fire as he’s covered this HRR line in six straight games with 3+ HRR in five of those games.

A big part of Soto’s recent success has been his power stroke as he’s gone yard in 4 of his last 6 games. Now Soto has another look at Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Bryce Elder who he’s 2-3 against with a home run.

It’s been a brutal season for Elder as he’s posted a 6.12 ERA on the season and he’s been even worse on the road where he’s posted a 6.66 ERA and .317 OBA.

Elder just gave up 5 earned runs on 7 hits (HR) across 6 innings of work. The Braves bullpen has also been in rough shape as they rank 26th in ERA (5.47) and 20th in WHIP (1.27) during the last 30 days.

Soto isn’t the only New York Mets hitter to have success against Elder as they hit .292 against him collectively with 4 home runs across 48 at-bats.

Soto hit another long ball last night and I fully expect him to continue this hot streak against some suspect pitching.

MLB Player Props Today for Thursday: Xavier Edwards, Marlins OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-140)

Xavier Edwards is currently riding an 8-game hitting streak where he’s logged 2+ hits in six of those games.

More importantly, Edwards has covered this HRR line 8 straight games while logging 3+ HRR in five straight games.

Tanner Bibee was a serviceable starter for the Cleveland Guardians during the middle of the season but he struggled in July (6.15 ERA & .279 OBA) and he’s been even worse in August (7.20 ERA &.310 OBA).

During his last three outings, Bibee has allowed 12 earned runs (4HR) on 20 hits across 15 innings pitched.

Edwards is a switch-hitter that has thrived against right-handed pitching with a .322 batting average and .381 on-base percentage.

The wind is blowing in tonight at Progressive Field but that won’t hurt Edwards game too much as he’s only hit two home runs on the season.

The Marlins leadoff hitter relies on getting on base where he can take advantage of his speed and score runs.
