Blue Jays vs Diamondbacks Prediction and Betting Preview | June 17
Tuesday’s Blue Jays vs Diamondbacks contest features a matchup of starting pitchers that could both use a bounce-back performance. Arizona’s Brandon Pfaadt has allowed a total of 16 runs on 21 hits in 8.0 innings over his last three starts, with no real signs of improvement on the horizon.

Arizona Diamondbacks
Pfaadt has a 6.94 ERA with a 1.43 WHIP in seven road starts this season. He enters Tuesday in the bottom-fifth percentile among pitchers in expected ERA, expected batting average allowed, average exit velocity, barrel rate and hard-hit rate.
His strikeout rate has dropped from 24.3-percent last year to 17.7-percent this year. His hard-hit rate has climbed from 39.4-percent last year to 52.8-percent this year. His average exit velocity has climbed from 89.4 mph last year to 93.1 mph this year.
Arizona’s lineup has been one of the best in the league against right-hand pitching this season. The Diamondbacks are hitting .258 against righties (No. 5 in MLB) with a .338 on-base percentage (No. 2) and a 123 wRC+ (No. 2).
Toronto Blue Jays
After a magnificent start to the season, Toronto’s Chris Bassitt has shown some flaws in recent weeks. He’s given up at least four runs in three of his last four starts.
Lefties are hitting .293 with a .348 on-base percentage against Bassitt this season, compared to righties that are hitting .239 with a .279 on-base percentage. The Diamondbacks have plenty of lefties to fill the top-half of the lineup, including Corbin Carroll in the lead-off spot and Josh Naylor hitting clean-up.
The Blue Jays’ lineup got off to a little bit of a slow start this season, but they have turned it on in recent weeks. Since May 1, Toronto is hitting .266 (No. 2 in MLB) with a .332 on-base percentage (No. 3) and a 116 wRC+ (No. 4).

Blue Jays vs Diamondbacks Prediction
Neither team played on Monday, so both bullpens are rested and ready for the start of this interleague series. The Blue Jays have had one of the best bullpens in the league over the last two months, so we’re going to stay away from the full game and focus on the first five innings where we have a pair of potentially-vulnerable starting pitchers.
