Expert NBA Player Props for Thursday: Payton Pritchard, Boston Celtics OVER 21.5 Points (-120)

Payton Pritchard has only covered this line in 5/20 games (25%) on the season, but Jaylen Brown is listed as doubtful, and the last time Pritchard played without Brown & Jayson Tatum he scored 34 points against the Charlotte Hornets.

Even with Brown on the court, Pritchard has managed to average 19 points during his last 10 games. Now Pritchard is playing a Washington Wizards team that has allowed the MOST points overall with 127.3 per game.

The Wizards also rank 22nd in defending spot-up shooters and 28th in defending the pick-&-roll ball handler and those two areas account for 31% and 28% of Pritchard points respectively.

We have seen similar players thrive against Washington as Tyrese Maxey scored 35 & 39 points, Kevin Porter Jr 30 points, Reed Sheppard 21 points and Kon Knueppel 20 points.

Pritchard managed to score 18 points against Washington in early November despite playing only 24 minutes in a 29-point blowout in a game where Jaylen Brown scored 35 points.

The Celtics are 10.5-point favorites, but the Wizards should be able to hang around without Brown in action.

Expert NBA Player Props for Thursday: DeAndre Ayton, LA Lakers OVER 25.5 Points + Rebounds (-115)

Luka Doncic has been ruled out for this contest due to personal reasons and DeAndre Ayton has thrived without him on the court, logging 27+ PR in 3 of 4 games (avg 31.8 PR/game) while landing on 24 PR in the lone game where he fell short of this line.

In these four games, Ayton has seen amazing volume with an average of 34.4 minutes, 15.5 field goal attempts and 17.3 rebound chances per game.

When Ayton has taken 11+ field goal attempts, he’s covered this line in 8/9 games this season (avg 31.3/game) with his lone miss being a 23 PR effort.

Marcus Smart has also been ruled out for this game and Ayton has gone over this line in 5/6 games without him while averaging 26.8 PR per game.

The Toronto Raptors do rank 13th in PR allowed to opposing centers but they rank 29th in defensive efficiency vs the Net area where Ayton scores 51% of his points.

Jakob Poeltl has also been ruled out for this game, leaving Ayton with a 4″ size advantage over Sandro Mamukelashvili.

We have seen opposing centers thrive without Poeltl on the court as Karl Anthony-Towns logged 30 PR, Nic Claxton (22), Joel Embiid (35), Evan Mobley (38) and Alperen Sengun (26).

Ayton has dominated the Raptors regardless of who is on the court with 26+ PR in 10 of his last 12 games while averaging 29.3 PR game.

Toronto is only favored by -2.5 points so we should avoid a blowout, and Ayton should see close to his season average of 29+ minutes per game.
