Expert NBA Player Props for Wednesday: VJ Edgecomb, 76ers OVER 11.5 Points (-108)

It’s definitely a bit risky backing a rookie on their NBA debut but VJ Edgecombe turned heads in the preseason with 10-, 14- and 26-point performances.

Nick Nurse has been very impressed with his #3 draft pick he “will play a prominent role” and that he’s “way ahead of where they thought he would be”.

Edgecombe only played one game with Joel Embiid on the court and that was the 26-point effort against a solid defensive team in the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Baylor product is very athletic, and he can use that to take advantage of defenses while they focus on Tyrese Maxey and Embiid.

Derrick White while guard Maxey in all likelihood, leaving Edgecombe with an easier matchup in Payton Pritchard. The spread is only -2.5 so we should avoid a blowout limiting minutes.

Expert NBA Player Props for Wednesday: Davion Mitchell, Heat OVER 4.5 Assists (-112)

Davion Mitchell will see an expanded role with Tyler Herro on the shelf, and he should see 25+ minutes tonight even if he does come off the bench.

Mitchell cleared this line in each of his last 7 and 16 of his last 17 regular season games to close out the 2024-25 campaign.

“Off Night” also logged 5+ assists in 23 of his last 30 games with Bam Adebayo on the court while playing 23+ minutes.

The Orlando Magic is admittedly a tougher matchup, but Mitchell did record 6 assists against them across 25 minutes in his last head-to-head matchup while playing with Toronto.

Mitchell was a cash cow for us in the postseason, and I see him stepping up as a facilitator in the early season.
