NBA Player Prop for Friday, October 24
Cooper Flagg (DAL): OVER 16.5 Points -115 (Good to 17.5)
Cooper Flagg’s NBA debut may have been spoiled by Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs, but we think tonight is the night he gets it going as the Mavericks host the Wizards.
As most know Washington was one of the worst teams in the league last season and they opened up the 2025-26 season by allowing the Bucks to score 133 points.
We’re going to take Flagg to go over 16.5 points tonight against a Wizards team that was bottom four in defensive efficiency last season.
Flagg only played two Summer League games this past offseason and in his first game he only scored 10 points which coincidentally enough was the same amount of points he scored against the Spurs on Wednesday.
He followed that up with a 31-point performance and although we’re not saying Flagg scores 31 tonight, the nerves and anxiety will be less than opening night which should allow more easy opportunities for scoring especially against one of the worst defenses in the league.
Let’s not forget the Wizards also ran at a top-four pace in the league as well last season with them and the Bucks each generating 98 shot attempts with Dallas only shooting the ball 83 times in their loss to the Spurs.
Take Flagg to have some sort of breakout performance going up and over 16.5 points scored against a lowly Wizards team at home Friday night.
NBA Betting Trends for Friday, October 24
#533 Atlanta Hawks at #534 Orlando Magic
These Southeast Division foes became very familiar with each other at the end of last season, meeting five times over the final two months including a game in the play-in round of the postseason. The point spread did not come into play in any of those five meetings: Either Orlando won-and-covered as a favorite (three times) or Atlanta earned the outright upset win (twice). Six of the last eight meetings have stayed under the total.
#535 Cleveland Cavaliers at #536 Brooklyn Nets
Cleveland won all four meetings last season, but Brooklyn covered the spread as a double-digit ‘dog twice and fell one point shy of another point spread victory (lost by 13 as a 12-point ‘dog). The under went 3-1 in those four games as Brooklyn scored an average of 100.5 points per game.
#537 Boston Celtics at #538 New York Knicks
Boston won all four regular season meetings, but the Knicks knocked the Celtics out of the playoffs in a six-game series. The four regular season meetings saw an average of 233.8 points per game, but things tightened up in the playoff series, especially with the Celtics’ injury struggles.
#539 Milwaukee Bucks at #540 Toronto Raptors
Milwaukee won-and-covered all three meetings last season, winning those three contests by an average of 18.7 points per game.
#541 Detroit Pistons at #542 Houston Rockets
The road team won both meetings last season as Houston earned a 101-99 win in Detroit and the Pistons returned the favor with a 107-96 win in Texas. Both games stayed comfortably under their respective totals.
#543 Miami Heat at #544 Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies won both meetings last season, including a 34-point win here in Memphis in March. Six of the last seven meetings have stayed under the total, including both games last season.
#545 San Antonio Spurs at #546 New Orleans Pelicans
The home team won all four meetings last season. The last three meetings each stayed under the total by an average margin of 20.2 points per game.
#547 Washington Wizards at #548 Dallas Mavericks
Dallas won-and-covered both meetings last season with both contests going over the total.
#549 Utah Jazz at #550 Sacramento Kings
Sacramento has won each of the last eight meetings, going 3-1 against the spread in last year’s contests. The Kings scored an average of 131.0 points in the two games played in Sacramento and 115.5 points in the two games played in Utah.
#551 Minnesota Timberwolves at #552 Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers and Timberwolves split their four regular season meetings with the home team winning-and-covering all four contests. Minnesota dominated their playoff series with a 4-1 victory, out-scoring Los Angeles by an average of 7.0 points per game. All four regular season meetings stayed under the total (7-2 in the nine total meetings).
#553 Golden State Warriors at #554 Portland Trailblazers
This one got a lot more interesting over the last 24 hours, huh?! Portland will be playing this game (and possibly the season?) without head coach Chauncey Billups. Former player Tiago Splitter has been named the interim head coach, but Splitter has never coached at this level before and he just joined the organization in June. Golden State has won each of the last nine meetings. The Warriors won all three meetings by double-digits last season.
#555 Phoenix Suns at #556 Los Angeles Clippers
Phoenix won all four meetings last season (3-1 ATS) with three of those four games going over the total.
