NFL Week 16 First Touchdown Props Prediction: James Cook Buffalo Bills (+450)

James Cook snapped a two-game touchdown drought with a season high three touchdowns last week as they Buffalo Bills offense rolled over the New England Patriots.

Cook is tied for the 2nd most first touchdowns with three and he’s also tied for 3rd in red zone rushing attempts with 44.

Cleveland Browns defense hasn’t been nearly as effective in recent weeks as they have allowed 31 points in back-to-back games against Chicago and Tennessee.

The Browns defense is also banged up with Denzel Ward & Carson Schwesinger listed as questionable, but they have really missed defensive tackle Maliek Collins in stuffing the run.

Collins is on the IR and in two games without him Cleveland let D’Andre Swift run for 98 yards & 2 TDs (Monangai 33 same game) and Tony Pollard run for 161 yards & 2 TDs.

Buffalo only has one more first touchdown than Cleveland, but the Bills should be expected to score first as -10.5-point favorites.

The books are expecting a heavy workload this week in Cleveland as Cooks rush attempts line is set at 19.5 & his rush yards line is set at 88.5.

It will be cold with a chance of rain in Cleveland on Sunday afternoon which is a perfect recipe to keep pounding the rock.

NFL Week 16 First Touchdown Props Prediction: Nico Collins Houston Texans (+475)

Nico Collins is coming off a game where he managed to turn three receptions into 85 yards and a season high two touchdowns against the Arizona Cardinals.

Collins is tied for 2nd with three first touchdowns and the only players with more first TDs are running backs. Woody Marks (3) and Collins (4) have half of the Houston Texans team first touchdowns, but Marks missed practice again on Thursday due to an ankle injury.

The Las Vegas Raiders are tied for the 5th most wide receiver touchdowns allowed (16) and they have allowed 9 first quarter touchdowns to the Texans 6.

The Texans are heavily favored in this contest (-14.5) and they have struck first in 7/14 games (50%) compared the Raiders who have only scored first in 5/14 games (35.7%).

Collins is the only wide receiver with a red zone target in Houston’s last two games, and he should continue to CJ Stroud’s favorite option in a game against a lifeless Raiders offense.
