NFL Week 5 First Touchdown Props Prediction: Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts (+320)

Jonathan Taylor hasn’t logged a first touchdown yet this season, but he finished 2024 tied for the 5th most with four.

Taylor does have four anytime touchdowns and tied for the 3rd most red area rushing attempts with 17. Now Taylor is facing a Las Vegas Raiders defense that has allowed three running back touchdowns in the last two games including a two-yard run by D’Andre Swift last week.

The Raiders offense has also been very inconsistent with Geno Smith throwing 7 interceptions and they just lost their best offensive lineman for the season as Kolton Miller injured his ankle.

The Indianapolis Colts have struck first in 3/4 games this season and 11/17 games during the 2024 campaign (64.7%).

Meanwhile the Raiders have only scored first in 1/4 games this season and 6/17 games last season (35.3%).

The Colts are 7-point home favorites, and their offense has been much more effective. Taylor has seen a boatload of work in the red zone, and they should continue to look his way.

NFL Week 5 First Touchdown Props Prediction: Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions (+380)

Jahmyr Gibbs let us down last week, but he did score for a 3rd straight game with a team first touchdown.

Gibbs also led the NFL with 7 first touchdowns during the 2024 campaign and he already has two in 2025.

The Cincinnati Bengals are dealing with a short turnaround after playing a Monday Night Football game where the defense played 80 snaps while allowing over 500 yards of total offense against the Denver Broncos.

Cincinnati only scored 3 points in that game with only 9 first downs and 159 yards of total offense. Meanwhile the Detroit Lions offense has been a buzzsaw with 124 total points in their last three games.

The Bengals are tied for the 8th most running back rushing touchdowns (3), and they are tied for the most running back receiving touchdowns with 3.

This is a spot where Detroit is going to have massive edges on both sides of the ball as 10-point road favorites. Look for Gibbs to strike first in Cincinnati.
