Best NFL Monday Night Football Player Props Prediction: Jahmyr Gibbs, Lions OVER 81.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards (-114)

Jahmyr Gibbs has covered this R+R line in 1 of 2 games to open the season with 50 and 104 all-purpose yards.

The 50-yard game came in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers in a game with horrible game script, but it was encouraging that Gibbs caught 10/10 passes for 31 yards.

Gibbs beat this line in 14/18 games during the 2024 campaign while landing on 74, 78, 76 and 73 yards in the four games where he fell short.

The Baltimore Ravens defense has allowed the 2nd most receptions and 6th most receiving yards to opposing running backs and we have seen James Cook (BUF) log 58 receiving yards and Jerome Ford (CLE) log 23 receiving yards.

Baltimore ranks middle of the pack in yards allowed but 27th in EPA/Rush while allowing the 10th most yards per carry.

David Montgomery is still in the mix but he’s on the record of being aware that the Detroit Lions are making Gibbs the focal point of their offense and Gibbs is seeing roughly 60% of the snaps.

This sets up as a game script that will favor Gibbs as the Lions are -4.5-point underdogs with the highest total of the Week 3 slate at 53.5.

Detroit will surely be looking to utilize their explosive back against a Ravens defense that has been vulnerable against dual-threat backs.

Derrick Henry won the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award last season but it’s Lamar Jackson who leads the Baltimore Ravens in red area carries to open the season.

Jackson didn’t need to risk running the ball (2/13 yds) in a 24-point victory against the Cleveland Browns but this Monday Night Football game sets up more as the Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills.

Jackson ran the ball 6 times for 70 yards and a touchdown in 41-40 shootout loss in prime time on Sunday night.

This is a critical game between two 1-1 teams with a huge total 53.5 so we should see plenty of fireworks.
