Best NFL Monday Night Football Props Prediction: Zach Charbonnet, Seahawks UNDER 38.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
Zach Charbonnet has fallen short of this line in two straight games & 3/5 games on the season and his two overs were only 39 & 47 rushing yards.
Kenneth Walker III has been the superior back in Seattle as he’s logged 78 carries for 364 yards (4.7 yards/carry) while Charbonnet has logged 60 carries for a 156 and a minuscule 2.6 yards per carry.
Charbonnet ranks 3rd worst in the NFL for rush yards over expected per carry (-0.9) which illustrates that the Seahawks blocking scheme hasn’t been the problem.
The Houston Texans own the 7th best run defense in the league while holding opponents to an average of 77.8 rushing yards per game and just 3.8 yards per carry.
The same Texans defense just held Derrick Henry to only 33 yards on 15 carries in their last game prior to their bye week.
Charbonnet is coming off a 12 carry 24-yard effort against the Jacksonville Jaguars so it’s clear that the Seahawks need to lean on Walker in what should be a hard-fought game against Houston.
Best NFL Monday Night Football Props Prediction: CJ Stroud, Texans OVER 31.5 Pass Attempts (-114)
The Seattle Seahawks have been a cash cow for opposing quarterbacks pass attempt overs as we have seen 6/6 clear this line including Trevor Lawrence (42), Baker Mayfield (33), Kyler Murray (41), Spencer Rattler (39), Aaron Rodgers (33) and Brock Purdy (35).
It makes sense considering the Seahawks defense ranks 2nd in EPA against the run while allowing the fewest rushing yards to opposing running backs.
The Houston Texans backfield isn’t a very intimidating group with Nick Chubb and Woody Marks leading the charge.
CJ Stroud has only covered this line in 1/5 games this season, but his last two games were essentially locked up in the 2nd half as the Texans beat Baltimore 44-10 and Tennessee 26-0. In Houston’s first couple of games, they were dealing injuries to skill positions, and a poor offensive line play that limited Stroud’s passing volume.
There is some potential for light rain but that combined with the Seahawks could lead to shorter throws leading to more attempts. Seattle is favored by -3 at home and that sets up a favorable game script for pass attempts.
