Expert WNBA Props for Thursday: Kayla Thornton, Valkyries OVER 22.5 Points + Rebounds (-130)

The Golden State Valkyries have multiple players competing in the EuroBasket tournament and Kayla Thornton has seen increased volume with 11+ field goal attempts and 17+ points in four straight games.

Thornton has been taking and making a higher percentage of three-points shots with 6+ attempts from long-distance in 5 straight games and 2+ made threes in 4 straight games after averaging only one made three across the first 7 games of the season.

However, the highest usage increase has come on the glass as Thornton has averaged 9.8 rebounds across her last four games including three double-digit efforts.

The Indiana Fever have allowed the MOST rebounds to opposing forwards and the 4th most rebounds overall.

Thornton is basically locked in for 35+ minutes and that should be plenty of time to clear this line despite the 11-point spread.

Expert WNBA Props for Thursday: Jonquel Jones, Liberty Double Double (+110)

Jonquel Jones returned to action after missing two games with an injury and she managed to record a double double (10 Pts & 10 Reb) despite playing only 25 minutes.

We should see Jones play closer to her season average of 28 minutes tonight and when she’s played 20+ minutes she’s logged a double double in 6/7 games.

The lone game where Jones fell short was a 25-point blowout victory against the Chicago Sky where she played just 22 minutes.

The Phoenix Mercury isn’t the friendliest matchup scoring-wise as they rank #1 defending post-up scoring (majority of Jones scoring) but they are playing the second leg of a back-to-back so we could see tired legs.

Phoenix doesn’t have a dominant rebounding center, and we just watched Olivia Nelson-Ododa grab 14 rebounds against them last night.
