Alyssa Thomas and the Phoenix Mercury are facing elimination tonight in New York and Thomas will remain as the focal point of the offense in a game with 3-point spread.

Thomas fell just short of this line in Game 1 with 14 points & 8 assists (22 PA), but she shot only 7-18 from the field and 0-2 from long distance.

As a team, the Mercury shot only 33% from the field & 23% from three-point land so with just a little bit of positive regression Thomas will eclipse this number.

Thomas should see similar usage and when she’s played 27+ minutes she has covered this line in 22/34 games (65%) including 3/5 head-to-head games with the Liberty.

Breanna Stewart is dealing with a knee injury and listed as questionable. If Stewart misses the game or is limited, the Liberty’s defense in the paint takes a major hit and Thomas thrives in that area.

Ultimately, we just need slight improvement in Thomas’s shooting and I’m banking on a big-time player stepping up in do or die game.

Expert WNBA Player Props for Wednesday: Cecilia Zandalasini, Valkyries OVER 10.5 Points (+100)

Cecilia Zandalasini is coming off 14-point effort across 30 minutes of play in Game 1 of her playoff series against the Minnesota Lynx.

Minnesota won Game 1 by 29 points, but Zandalasini still managed to beat this line with ease. The Lynx have now allowed 6 of the last 7 opposing forwards to eclipse their respective points line.

Over the last 15 games, Minnesota has also allowed the 3rd most above-the-break threes and that accounts for 65% of Zandalasini’s scoring. Zandalasini has covered this line in 6 of her last 8 games overall including three straight home games.

Ceci played 30 minutes in Game 1 despite the blowout and when she has played 25+ minutes she has covered this line in 9/11 games while landing on 10 exactly twice and averaging 14.9 points per game.

The Golden State Valkyries may keep this game a bit closer at home in an elimination game, but they will need Ceci’s shooting regardless.
