Who knew it would be Al Roker and the weathermen of the Big Apple that would find a way to slow down the Rays with Saturday’s rainout. Having watched Tampa Bay win 22 of 26 and pull clear in the AL East after Friday’s 4-2 win, the Yankees were glad for the day off, especially as the makeup game will come later in the season, perhaps when the Rays aren’t so hot.
Sunday starter Drew Rasmussen has been giving Kevin Cash five or six respectable innings, and best of all for Tampa Bay it has won in six of his last seven starts. No surprise if the Yanks might be hoping for more rain on Sunday after losing 10 of their last 14. Play Rays on Money Line
