Free CS:GO Betting Picks 5/30 - Gamers Without Borders - Mousesports vs. OG Preview & Prediction

Well, I’ll be damned. If it isn’t OG clan taking an inspired blowtorch to my audacity of picking against them (on the spread, as further insult to injury) in one of Friday morning’s Gamers Without Borders 2020 playoff openers, sweeping fnatic in convincing fashion.

But perhaps we’re in store for a bit of a closer semifinal round with well-rounded Mousesports clan, who drew a first-round bye. The lines indicate a bit of a different feeling of momentum with OG entering this matchup as a razor-thin favorite (-120) over Mousesports (-115).

Team Comparisons & Points of Interest

As alluded to, Mousesports brings a well-oiled machine to this matchup, and one that operates profoundly well as a five-man unit. Every pack has its lead wolves (woxic and ropz), but with this group the cohesion possessed further masks the flaws of any support members as well.

Speaking of cohesion, OG has a rejuvenated sense of the term, since having played a convincing sweep of fnatic following an excess of a month’s absence in the competitive tournament field. Quite reminiscent to Mousesports in relation to the effectiveness as a whole five-man unit, mantuu and valde are well-supported by the likes of ISSAA and NBK-, and further complimented with Aleksib as a clan that stands out by means of standout performance as a whole, rather being dragged by a dominant individual.

Pick: OG ML (-120 @ Bovada)

Not only is this matchup between two identical clans all the more complicated by player comparison, but the map advantage is indeed split down the middle, with mouz getting the better of Dust2, Train, Nuke, and Vertigo, while OG dominated Overpass and Inferno as the two essentially share strength in Mirage.

Most recently just over a month ago, Mousesports and OG met for two matches with completely different outcomes: OG winning the latter two games in a best-of-three to start the ESL Pro League Europe, and Mousesports sweeping the second match 2-0 just six days later.

This time it’s OG coming into the match with fresh legs, as Mousesports has been off for a week since being smoked out of the DreamHack Masters Spring, winning just one map in three best-of-three matches as they found themselves being upset by Complexity, BIG, and MAD Lions.

As much as I want to lean in heavier on the OG momentum in conjunction with the map spread favorite -1.5 (+245), I’ll play it safe and go with the nickel added juice.
